I purchased this Muse on e-bay as is, downloaded the user's manual, installed Songbird on my computer, quickly figured out how to sync songs from my computer to the Media Player. either auto mode or manual mode. Trouble is when I go to the player and pick a song, I cannot get it to play on the player. songs do play on songbird on my computer, I tried the recorder and it won't record. I tried the Radio, it works just fine. I'm wondering if I'm doing something wrong. I am using Google Chrome as browser and noticed when the users manual refers internet explorer. Anyone have any ideas? Any help would be greatly appreciated, I'm in a nursing home and , well thats why I buy as is. I don't have much money at all. so I have to try to do the best I can.

can it be that your files aren't supported by the player? do you see any error message popping up when you play the song?

does it happen to all your songs or just particular few songs?

This happens to all the songs, I even tried to sync a video to it and it wouldn't play, I have thought about formatting the player but when I read that everything will be lost I was afraid that it would be a total blank and then ruin it.
Is it possible that the internal player is bad, and the radio can still be good?

    Hey Flashin473,

Have you tried reparing it via Songbird? It will indeed delete the content, but only the files you have transferred on it and it definitely won't ruin it; it might actually help so don't be scared, go for it!

    Good luck,
    WW

Yes I have tried just about everything, I did notice one thing tho, I went to the recorder and tried to voice record and even tho the wheels were turning, I noticed that the timer wasn't moving. Then I tried to stop the recording and it wouldn't stop. Then the muse wouldn't turn off. I had to reset in order to stop the recorder. It doesn't make sense at all. At first I thought Chrome had something to do with it, but now that I found the recorder not to be working, it must be internal. I appreciate your helping me, but I may have to either ask Phillips about it. But then again its probably better to buy a new one then to repair.

    Hello Flashin473,

Is your device still on warranty? If yes and you have the receipt, please take it back to the retailer and it will be exchanged for a new one.

    Good luck,
    best wishes,
    Joanna
