Problem reading ALL .mkv files - Format Problem ?

Hello,

I have lots of .mkv fiels and my new TV (40PFL8605 NetTv) can not open all my mkv video files. I used another TV (Samsung Led) and it read all files without exeption... Is that a problem of format, why the Philips player doenst read properly all my files ?

Thanks for your help... do I nee dto install something extra to read it properly ?

Hi,

see the supported codecs list (http://www.supportforum.philips.com/...ghlight=codecs). You can use mediainfo.sourceforge.net to analyze the MKV files.

In my case it's usually the .mkv with DTS sound that the TV can't play.
You can convert the files for example with "Popcorn mkv Audioconverter" which needs "eac3to", though it takes a few minutes for a full movie. A tutorial can be found here: http://audioconverter.heartware.dk/Tutorial/
