47PFL7007T! will not power up - LED flashes 3 times.

Can't quite believe this, but here we go again. My 5 month old 46pfl7007t12 refuses to turn on. I noticed this morning that the led standby light was blinking. The set would not respond to the remote or back panel switch. I pulled the plug and left it a few minutes and powered up again. The set came on and all seemed ok. We've been out this morning and come back again to a blinking led. Same as before, no response to remote or rear buttons so pulled the plug. The set came on and ran for a couple of minutes before turning off. It now resolutely refuses to come back on at all. The led is blinking 3 times. Anyone got any suggestions?
Still running .085 software as I cant turn it on to update.

Thanks, Alex. I wonder why Philips Tech Support couldn't tell me that during one of my two calls earlier. They suggested I unplug the set for a couple of hours the try again, and to call back (on their premium rate number) again if it didnt work. Interestingly, there is another new thread on these boards from another user having the same problem with a different model. Benedickte has advised him to unplug his set and leave it off overnight. Surely, the flashing led is an error code, and three flashes will mean something specific. Someone must know what that means. Why won't support tell me?

Update: Set has been uplifted and taken away for repair. Apparently, whatever these mysterious '3 flashes' on the LED signify cannot be repaired in-home. I'll keep you posted.

Looks like there is a serious hardware fault with the *007 series. I see another forum poster has problems with his set not powering up, with just the LED flashing.

    What's going on, Philips?

just had a call from service engineers. They have found 'no fault'. Say the set turned on without any problems and has exhibited no unusual behaviour. I spoke to Philips this morning who say that the the flashing front LED indicates either a power supply issue or a motherboard issue. The engineers admit they haven't spoken to Philips as they couldn't find anything wrong. I've asked them to liaise with Philips before returning the set,

Update. My set was returned yesterday. At my insistence, before returning it the engineeers contacted Philips to discuss the 'flashing LED' error. They say that the have updated some ' engineer only' software relating to the use of the remote that could have caused the shutdown as well as updating the software to .87. Anyone heard of this 'engineer only' software, or am I being sold a line?
Anyway, its back, working. Lets see how long for though. Hope these posts have been useful to someone.
