    HTS8562/98 with headphone connection

Hi, I recently purchased Philips 42PFL5507D LED TV and the HTS8652/98 5.1 system a week ago. I have both devices setup and they work fine.

However, I would like to watch blu-ray / DVD occasionally so I purchased the Philips SHD 8600 headphone today. Now I figured that HTS8652/98 does not support audio output (at least I can't find any output for audio except the sockets for speakers).

I was too careless to the specification on HTS8562/98 before I purchased the headphone but I thought it would normal to have the audio putout on a/v system.

Anyway, is there any way for me to watch blue-ray/DVD by using the headphone? I have no knowledge on A/V system but would like to know is there something I can do with my Philips 42PFL5507D TV and HTS8652/98 for the headphone or the headphone is gonna be sitting at the corner for nothing?

THanks for any valuable advice. Thanks!

Hi, tricky one, however what i would try, is to connect the headphones to your TV. Due to the ARC-HDMI connections you should be able to “divert” the sound from the HTS to TV (you might have to do change some settings on TV).

Thanks for your advice, MrBarton. I had tried this method and have both devices set for ARC-HDMI. However, I'm not sure if my setting was correct but sound still coming out from 5.1 system.

Can some expert teach me the correct setting?

I beleive that using a/v system on the same brand would benefit my setting. However, I'm still unable to figure it out. Unless the ARC-HDMI is not capable for diverting sound from 5.1 system to TV; otherwise I wish someone could advice me the setting.

I finally figured out the setting to have the sound diverted to TV. The trick is to set the sound output on TV. Thanks for your advice!
