Informations before buying BDP7700 (subtitles, NTFS hdd...)

    Hi,

I'm very interested in buying the BDP7700, but before I have to raise certain questions.

1 - Does the player support NTFS formated HDD ? (on some website I saw only FAT16/32)
2 - Can my 2.5" HDD be powered through the players USB port without any additional power supply ? (like on my computer)
3 - I see the player can read .srt files with .avi files, but does it work to with .mkv and other video containers ?
4 - Can the player read subtitles embedded in mkv files ? (not necessary DivX+ HD compliant files)

    Thanks !
    Best regards

Okay, I will do my best to answer your question based on personal experiences.

    1) NTFS is supported

    2) 2.5” should not be a problem; 3.5” can be a problem.

    3) .srt with divx is supported. the .srt can work with mkv without problems from my own experience. Sub is a subtitle that less likely to be supported with various container.

    4) I have limited experience in regard to this matter, however I have doubts about it...

    I hope answers will help...?

    Thanks MrBarton !

Did you experience some compatibility issues ? When I don't watch a blu-ray disk, I mainly watch 720p and 1080p content in mkv format through a media player.

    Best regards.

Hi, I have not come across anything in terms of compatibility issues, but I have not played around with the player to much.

Is there anything particular you have in mind in terms of compatibility issues?
