    Dynamic Contrast?

Is Dynamic Contrast good? It seems to make the picture look bad when I watch directv at 720p. It's a shame most channels only get 720p I was fooled into beliving they were 1080p only On Demand, anyway Dynamic Contrast make the picture look grainy dots in dark images and artifacts show up. I was wondering if dynamic contrast is good, what's the purpose of it.

    Kenny,

It is a matter of personal preference. Dynamic contrast causes color clipping and loss of detail on the high end of the RGB spectrum.

For viewing TV at home, it is better to turn it off. The feature is in the TV because some people like it and it makes the TV pop out in stores.

To give you an analogy, it is similar to Dynamic Bass Boost or Spatial Surround in audio ... it is not natural but some people like.

But we give you the option to turn it on or off, so if you do not like it, turn it off
