    Unhappy BDP 9700/12 problems .

Hello every one . On May 16 I have purchased the new BDP 9700 /12 Blu Ray Player . Once connected to the power and switched on it has frozen showing the PHILIPS name on the screen . It was not possible to control the device from the remote control , not even to switch it off . I gave back the player to the shop and after one week they gave me a second one . Once connected to the power and Internet it has requested automatically a sotware upgrade and at the end of the upgrade it has frozen in the restart phase , without accepting any command . I was obliged to disconnect the power plug and connect it again to restart the player . After this the operation was rather normal until it was frozen again in the Home Screen , not accepting any command from the remote .
I suppose that the problem is in the player software which looks unstable to me .
Can you please provide any relevant information and if there is any solution to this problem .

    Hi,

please check, if you have installed version 3.80 - if yes, perform a factory reset...

OK Thanks . Installed version is 3.80 , I have performed the factory reset and it looks OK . I will let you know in case tere is any other problem . What about the activation of the analog multichannel audio output . Should I deactivate the audio from HDMI main ?? My Yamaha Z9 AV receiver does not support HDMI input but it performs very nice audio in its analog multichannel input .

    Dear cmal3850,

you do not have to disable audio from HDMI main for analog multi-channel audio output.
