No suitable picture format for widescreen movie

I wanted to stream a widescreen movie (720x304 pixels, or approx. 21:9) but found no suitable picture format. All available modes filled the screen horizontally and vertically, whereas black bars above and below would be the proper way to display the movie.
Because I didn't like the distorted images shown, I had to revert to my BluRay player to play the movie. This was the first movie I tried to stream on my new 40PFL7007, so I was quite disappointed. I have the latest software installed. Is there a solution available to this problem that I missed? Or can I qualify this as an ommision in the software?

    Hello Tsjakka,

Could you please confirm the current software version installed on your TV?

What result do you get when you set the picture format to Unscaled? This should display the video in the default format and resolution streamed from your device.

    Best regards,
    Ina

    Hi Ina,

Thanks for your response; you have put me on the right track. I bought the TV six weeks ago and immediately updated to the latest version over the internet. So when I wrote my post I assumed I had just that. But after your reply I decided to check the actual version numbers and found out I had version QF1EU.0.150.82.0 instead of the version on the website 000.150.087.000.
When I tried updating over the internet again, the TV insisted I have the latest version. After updating from a USB stick my scaling problem was solved! Hopefully the update problem is gone too.

    Thanks again,
    Tsjakka

    Hi Tsjakka,

I'm glad to hear your issue is resolved! Thank you for sharing that.

Not all updates are made available over the internet. It's a good idea to regularly check the support pages for updates as well.

    Best regards,
    Ina
