So first things first - my 40" 9000 2010 series is amazing.
It's got the HD's the 3D's and the spectra's (three of them - oh the win).

The blacks are like staring directly into the abyss.
Colours so vivid they cause me to question the very nature of reality,
sharpness that I'm sure will one day cause my eyes to bleed and the ambilights.
oh the ambilights, how you seduce me with your colours and your shiny.

In terms of connectivity its got it all - with a number and variety of sockets normally found only in brothels.
the finish is nice, the remote is also very nice.
It's a pleasure to hold, and a joy to use.

BUT - I am suprised at some of the oversights, which have been overlooked.
(pay attention Mr Philips, because i'm sure you could fix them with a software update)

ok so Gripe 1,
TXT input - what a mess.
first rule of on screen keyboard is if I am at the very right of the keyboard, and I press right, I want to end up on the left side of the keyboard - same with up and down.
second point regarding the onscreen keyboard would be to combine the sms style input with the onscreen keyboard.
currently if i have the onscreen keyboard open and i press the number key's on the remote i just get the number - it would be good if you could use the onscreen keyboard AND the sms style input at the same time.

The ambilights
the wall I have my tv mounted on is blue - it's cobalt blue - however the blue's that the wall adaptive ambilight options give me don't exactly match this colour.
I would guess that the wall adaptive ambilight follows a basic (though admittedly ingenious) algorithm.
altering the RGB values of the ambilight in accordance to the RGB values of the wall colour,
would it not be possible to be able to select your wall colour using something similar to the Microsoft custom colour selector as seen in everything from MSpaint upwards?

Net TV
ok so in the UK this is a complete waste of time, I won't even mention the full depravity that is the youtube app.
I signed into my youtube account (where my setting dictate that on full screen video's play on the highest resolution available, yet still on the TV its only low quality)

you NEED to get iplayer working on your TV - yes screen freaks will buy the telly with or without the iplayer - but mr Joe average, will see a samsung or sony for cheaper, with iplayer and even love film - bye bye customer.

you would probably only need to sell an additional 10 tv's in the uk to justify hiring some IT guy for a week or 2 to give your tv flash support, and another 4 telly's to build a dedicated iplayer app.

still on the whole a good telly, It's just a pity that you HAVE to have your computer switched on if you wan't to display anything mildly internet related as the "net TV" is so very piss poor
