Unhappy Uppleva IKEA wifi usb adapter

    Hi

I just bought the Uppleva wifi usb-adaptor from ikea - it's ment for their Uppleva tv, but I figured I'd try it out on my Phillips TV..
Unfortunetly it says unsupported device inserted..

Is there a list of supported usb-dongles?

    My TV is a
    42pfl4307t/12

    Firmware version is
    000.097.000.000, 2013-04-10

    Hi,

only Philips PTA01 is supported for your TV.

    Are you kidding me?

That sounds extremely stupid, and could obviously be solved via firmware update - but I guess selling ones own wifi-adapter is more important than costumer satisfaction.. Dumb..

Oh, well I guess I'll find other uses for an external wifi adapter..

Thanks for the very speedy reply though! :-)

    Regards
    Engberg

    Hi,

the problem is, that then you need to include thousands of drivers... that's not possible.

However, you can buy a LAN/WLAN-Bridge... it's cheaper than PTA01 and you can use it also for other devices (if you don't need it at the TV anymore).
