While uniformity in 42PFL6007K/12
Hello,
I purchased a Philips TV 42PFL6007K/12 last year, and I'm very happy with the picture quality, I think Philips has the best picture quality compared to other companies in the market.
Recently, I have connected the TV to my computer (with HDMI cable) in order to watch movies through the internet and easily browse the internet. I have noticed that during white picture, there is some uniformity problem:
Right half side of the TV is more bright and greenish, while when moving to the left half side- the picture comes less bright and more pinkish.
At the beginning I thought that it was my HDMI cable, however after I tried to connect disk-on-key through USB connection with the same white screen, I can say that it is not the cable.
I attached 3 pictures:
1. New tab from Firefox browser: it can be seen very clearly that right side is different from lest side.
2. Full white screen
3. Comparison between the two sides when showing white picture: right is more greenish, left is pinkish.
Is there something wrong with my screen? I tried to change picture settings, reset TV to factory settings, and unplug it from the power cord for several hours, nothing changed.
Philips, can you please help me and consult with your technical team?
Thank you very much

Hi NaC,
I have a few question regarding this:
1) Does this appear on all sources or devices? Please check with the TV tuner or a DVD/Blu-ray player.
2) If not, please try a different PC, preferable with a different graphics card if possible.
- if you do not see th issue with a different PC, please try to update the drivers and firmware for your existing graphics card and adjust the graphics settings. There could also be a compatibility issue with your graphics card.
3) If yes, do you notice this when watching anything other than a white screen? Examples will help.
4) Go into YouTube app in Smart TV and search “the most white screen in the world HD (dirty test)” [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1CazuE8A8Ys]. Here is a white screen. What does that look like?
Best regards,
Ina

Ina hi,
Thank you very much for your reply, please see my answers to your questions below:
1. Yes, it appears on other sources like USB. I copied the white picture I used in my last post into USB stick and connected it to the one of USB TV port. Here is the picture, including comparison between the two sides:
3. I notice this phenomenon only when displaying a white screen. It can be in the middle of movies, surfing the web, etc.
4. I watched the link above through TV browser (smart TV feature), here is the picture with comparison of two sides:
Thank you for your help

Hi NaC,
Thank you for checking these things.
In this case I would advise you to contact your local customer service as the set would need to be looked at by a service engineer:
http://www.support.philips.com/suppo..._selector.jsp?
Select your country and preferred language and then Contact.
Please feel free to reference this thread to the customer service representative, should it be helpful.
Best regards,
Ina

Thank you very much Ina for your response.
I am wondering if speaker can affect the TV with color changes.
Do speakers have some effect on LCD TVs like the old CRT? I have speaker on the top left, 20cm above the TV left corner.
Thanks
