Unhappy Bad user experience on Philips DesignLine 47” Smart LED-TV (47PDL6907T/12)

    Hi,
First, I would like to state, that I always have been happy about Philips products (You might even call me a fan), i own a broad range of products.

    A few of them:
    Philips Wake-up Light.
    Philips LivingColors Products.
    2 Philips TV's
    2 Philips Soundbar.
    A lot of kitchen products.
    Etc.

    Recently I bought a Philips DesignLine 47” Smart LED-TV (47PDL6907T/12).

On any SmartTV its very important that the menus are running smoothly, to give the user a great experience.

Sadly, my experience with this TV is the opposite. - The menus are running slow / Lags / bad reaction from when I click the remote.

For me it seems that the menu transparency and animations have been a higher priority than a smooth running TV. -The hardware is simply undersized for this.

A few videos that shows the problem:
    Volume Control - https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/...umeControl.mp4
    Menu - https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/2294312/Menu.mp4

To solve the problem I have done the following:

Updated to the newest available version. (QF1EU-0.15.0.87.0_bld28a)
    Reset of all settings
Disconnected all devices (HDMI, USB and Optics)

    ...Nothing helped.

Does anyone have the same experience or any suggestions on how to fix it?

    ---

    Current Software: QF1EU-0.15.0.87.0
    Release notes: Release for FusionR2
    QF1EU-0.15.0.87.0_bld28a

    A little update…
I have been using the TV a lot, since I posted about the slow user experience.
The Experience is the same, and no software update seems to be in sight 

Sadly, I have stumbled upon a few annoying bugs as well.

    1. Sporadically the TV forgets its network setting.

    2. TV Guide shows the wrong channels.
I have many TV channels, so I have used the “favorite list” a lot, and the TV Guide is supposed to show only the channels on this list, but sometimes it switches to the “all Channel list” even if I change to a favorite channel again.

    3. When I start “Smart TV” and somewhat fast select an app I would like to start and press OK, it switches back to the App gallery and starts it instead of the app I selected.

    4. The TV freezes in the YouTube app if I press play on a long video; the one where I can replicate the problem is 2 hours long.

    5. The TV reboots sporadically.

I really hope for a software update soon to fix some of the problems

    Hi SBrandsborg,

There is a newer software version available (150.88). Have you update to this version yet? If not, please do and perform a "cold reboot" hereafter (unplug from power mains for 1-2 minutes after update is complete).

Also, I would advise a full reinstallation of your TV to address some of the issues you are experiencing.
Please note that a full reinstallation will completely revert your TV back to factory settings, clear installed channels and erase any USB recording previously made.

A full reinstallation is completed in 3 steps:

    1) HOME > [Setup] > [Network settings] > [Clear internet memory]

    2) HOME > [Setup] > [TV settings] > [General settings] > [Factory settings]

    3) HOME > [Setup] > [TV settings] > [Reinstall TV]
Press OK to confirm. Your TV will reboot and the installation process will start.

About YouTube freezing, does this happen after a specific time during playback? Such as 30 mins / 1 hour?

Does the rebooting also happen without external devices connected?

If after updating and reinstalling you are still experiencing issues, please do post them in the Technical Feedback thread as well:

    Best regards,
    Ina

    Hi
Unfortunately I have the same Philips 47" 6907 with same problems. Just updated to version 150.88. Lucky for me I use the TV as a monitor as I have VIASAT BOX to receive my HDTV channels. If I should use this TV as a standalone TV it had gone directly to my garbage can. I suffer from the menu freezes when shuffling around. The Smart TV is slow and not function properly. I cannot believe that this TV ever left the fabric, do they not have any Quality requirements/inspection? Previously I have also been fond of Philips products but Never ever will I buy any TV set from Philips Again I have seen some nice reviews of latest Panasonic Tv's. ..
Sorry for being angry on Philips but I feel that Philips wanted to have this series of TV's on market before realy finished developing and testing to gain some money on this product series. I don't feel that this is a quality product I have bought.
