BDP7700 problems with dvd and bluray extra
Hi everyone,
I just bought a dbp7700 and at first sight it was perfect but as soon as I put in a dvd all the problems started.
just to give as much information as possible I have a Philips flat tv hd-ready.
If I try to see a bluray disk everything is perfect but If I want to see the special contents on that dvd it appears a message on the screen "video not supported".
The same happens if I want to see a dvd, in that case is impossible to see the movie too.
I can only hear the sound in both case.
I tryed to watch brand new dvd of 2012 so I don't think is a matter of how old the disk is.
I upgraded the firmware but nothing happened, I changed the resolution of the video (i put it lower thinging it was a problem of tv resolution) but the dvd disk not even load on the player....
so frustrating
please help me!!!
thanks
Lucia

I think I might know the problem, but I'm not an expert I'm just presuming it.
The problem is that the door on the tv is DVI so when I watch a video that is not HD it's unable automatically switch from an HD video to a normal one.
So the movie on the BluRay disk is HD and I can see it but the extra content is not HD and he can't switch.
That's what I think, please correct if I am wrong.
So my question is, if I'm right do I need to change tv or there's a solution for that?

Intresting this problems pops up when your using HDMI to DVI ( since your TV got DVI )
Do you have the possibility to dry the BDP player with another HDMI device, like your friend or neighbours tv ? or just back at the store! ;-)
(its a long shot, I know. But it would be intresting and its a quick test)

Hi Stormen, thanks for answering me.
Yes, that's what I'm going to do soon, I'll try it on a full hd tv.
I will also try to put the autoupscaling off and see what happen..
I'll keep you posted.
have a good day
