Experience thread - FW 0.14.105.0 (v14.105) – 58x6, 6xx6, 7xx6, 8xx6 and 9xx6 series
Hi all,
The new FW is now live. For technical feedback (positive and negative points) please post here:
http://www.supportforum.philips.com/...nd-9xx6-series
This thread is more for questions, details and discussions.
IMPORTANT:
After upgrading your TV, it is necessary to perform a "cold start". This means that, after the TV is running again (after the update), shut down the TV, wait 1 minute (till all components are shut down), and unplug the TV from the mains (pull power cord) for 2 minutes before starting again.
Please note:
Please also ensure all external devices are up to date with the latest software.
If you are encountering any issues after a software update, please disconnect all external devices and reinstall the TV:
Home > [Setup] > [TV settings] > [Reinstall TV]
Reinstalling the TV will mean any connected HDD for USB recording/timeshift will need to be re-formatted, therefore erasing any pre-existing content.
Reinstallation will also involve reinstallation of channels on all the internal tuners. This may take some time depending on provider.
This FW is applicable to EU models only.

This update is valid for 58pfl9956 (21:9)?
I ask because your partner Thomas noted in German forum that is not valid for the model 21:9, and that for this model was published another update later.
thank you very much

I noticed it's available on the German support site, but not yet on the Dutch one.
Is the firmware update language depended? Or can I use the German version?

Although not mentioned anything changes, it is clear that they have changed some parameter of image processing. Greatly improved black level, but but local dimming is now slower.

Hy guys,
I just installed the new 14.105 software on my Philips Cinema Platinum 21:9 (58PFL9956H/12). Although the support site still shows 14.104 the download file is actually 14.105.
Did you notice any changes in image improvements beside the minor improvements mentioned in the change log?
Are the light flashes gone? Are the black side bars on 16:9 content now black instead of grey?
