    as111 not charging galaxy s4

Just bought an as111, everything working except the most crucial bit I.e. its not charging the phone when docked. I see the phones standard charger has a 2A output whereas the as111 has a 1A output. Anyone else have this issue?

hi DC72, is it only the charging that does not work? I mean, does the phone sync with the device when docked (clock, sound etc.)?

also, have you tried to connect the phone through the USB cable with the docking system? Would it charge the phone?

Hi Vaga. Yes the phone does sync I.e. clock and music work normally. I can charge my blackberry on the docking unit but not the s4. I feel that there is not enough amperage deliverer by the as111 to charge an s4 (?). The S4 will charge with the standard charger as well as my in-car charger and laptop USB charger.

yep, i've just checked with my colleague and he confirmed that the 1A to 2A current may be the issue in your case. the phone will sync and perform ok but just won't charge

I'm having the same issue with My Galaxy S4. My as111/37b was charging it fine, for about 3 months, and then all of a sudden it stopped charging it. I also tested my HTC Evo, and galaxy S3, and none of them will charge either. I sent this as111/37b back to phillips and received a new one...and it is not charging any of the phones mentions either. Is there something I am doing wrong?

    Dear supernatural006,

Which software version do you have on your phones? Have you tried to charge the phone via the micro-USB? Is it working?
When you place the phone into the dock, is the time synchronized? Can you playback the music and use the bluetooth?

    Thank you for information.

    Kind regards,

    Samsung galaxy S4

    Hardware Version - L720.08 (SPH-L720)

    Android Version - 4.3

    DockStudio Version - 1.0.27

The S4 charges via Micro USB, when connected to an outlet.

The unit will not charge Via the AS111/37B Docking Station.

I am able to synch via Bluetooth and the clock does change time.

(The phone is 5 months old)

    HTC EVO 4G LTE Phone

    DockStudio Version - 1.0.27

    Android version - 4.1.1

I am able to Synch Via Bluetooth. The clock will display the correct time.

Unit is will charge via micro usb, but will not charge on AS111/37B Docking station.

(Note...I also tried charging a nexus 7 Tablet, a Nexus 10 Tablet, a Nook Reader, and Galaxy tab 3 (7inch) tablet. None of which charged.

Is there another model that Philips offers, that will work for my phone? If so, since I am still in warranty, can I trade it in for that, and pay the difference? I do not feel confident that a new device will solve my issue, at this point.

    Dear supernatural006,

Can you please check if the flexidock system is well set?

If the connector has no complete fit it will not charge the devices.

    Kind regards,

I it set on the flexidock, just fine. Just this morning, the new one that was sent to me, will now, no longer synch either. I called Philips and was told that yet another one will be sent out to me. Keep in mind, the first one worked fine for about 3 months and then died on me, out of the blue.

Same issues with the OnePlus One, needs 2a to charge so the dock is virtually useless, I used it as an overnight charger/alarm

    Good Day,

I think this is because the AS111 port / dock is 0.7A only, while, the ports for both your S4 and HTC is 1.0A or 2.0A. The current it produces or carry is not enough to charge your phones.

The MicroUSB is also 1.0A that's why it works.

Technically this is not a fault or issue, it is simply the design.
