    Thumbs up Experience thread - FW 2.1.9 - for 3008, 3018 and 3028 models - 2013

    Hi all,

The new FW is live. For technical feedback (positive and negative points) please post here:
    http://www.supportforum.philips.com/...28-models-2013

This thread is more for details and discussions.

    IMPORTANT:
After upgrading your TV, it is necessary to perform a "cold start". This means that, after the TV is running again (after the update), shut down the TV, wait 1 minute (till all components are shut down), and unplug the TV from the mains (pull power cord) for 2 minutes before starting again.

This software applies to EU models 3008, 3018 and 3028, H/K/T series only.

    Changelog:

    VES22E_2.1.9X (Date published: 2013-08-21)

    • Compatibility with CI+ 1.3 resolved
    • System stability improved

    VES22E_2.1.9S (Date published: 2013-06-28)
    • ORS is enabled for K series
    • General SW improvement

    VES22E_2.1.4Y (Date published: 2013-05-07)
    • Improvement on UPC and Ziggo performance for H series

    VES22E_2.1.4T (Date published: 2013-02-28)
    • Initial production software.

    Best regards,
    Ina

    Hi,

    one issue i remember:

    - analogue channels are stored at position 9000 in channel list
    - digital channels are stored at position 1 in channel list

If one tries to make a mixed list:

    - e.g. move channel 9003 to position 4

an error message "operation not allowed" is displayed.

The same procedure works on 29x8 without problems (however, 29x8 series uses VES11 firmware).

    Can someone confirm?

    Hi,

I purchased the 32PFL3008H/12 model and upgraded immediately to 2.1.9. Whenever I open the "Recording Configuration" menu (with a FAT32 USB drive plugged in), the menu freezes so that neither any of the remote control buttons nor the physical power button on the TV work, even after unplugging the drive, and the only thing that helps is pulling the power cord. I guess it might be because there are no channels set up on the TV proper (as I have a digital set-top-box), but perhaps it's something else. What do you think? Thanks!

    Hi MartinusL,

It could be that this is due to the HDD not being formatted for recordings as you do not have channels installed. I will look into this.

However, does your HDD have it's own power supply? If it uses more than 500mA and does not have it's own supply this can also cause the TV to reboot/freeze.

    Best regards,
    Ina

    Hi Ina,

The USB drive in question was actually a USB memory stick (I tried two different ones, a 4 GB and a 8 GB model from different vendors), formatted to FAT32. The TV had recognized both drives: I used one to upgrade the firmware and the other to play a movie clip. Both sticks were emptied before trying the recording feature, so the problem is not in available disk space either. And the freezing occurs only when accessing the Recording Configuration menu.
    Hope that helps,
    ML

Question issue with playing file from USB device

    Hello,

On a 32pfl3008h, with v2.1.9s and the 2.1.9x, I have a issue with USB drive.

Sometimes, when I start playing a file from a HD USB ( a supported format file), the TV stops the play, write "USB plugged". I have to return to the multimedia menu. After that, the TV detects 2 partitions on the HD (it has only 1 partition) and asks which to use.
After OFF/ON, the TV detects only one partition. The issue is not repeatable, even with the same file.
The USB drive is a USB 2.0, 250 gb NTFS formatted (transcend).

Without that uncommon issue, playing files from this HD is fine.

    If you have a idea....

    Katarn.

Hello, I want to "equal-grade" the firmware (from European languyge to Vietnamese languyge). However, despite following all steps guided, I can not update the system (I followed instruction and firmware here: http://goo.gl/Vwu1k7) and also do the "Cold start" above. Could you help me? My model is 40pfl3018H. I'm in Belgium.

On 40PFL3008H/12 (FW2.1.9, Czech republic) I have issue with EPG DVB-T and recording. Some films are missing in EPG, EPG is discontinuous and this hidden/missing films can't be recorded.

Thank you Toengel, however, I tried this one before but it doesn't work for "equal-grade" (Only work for upgrade)
