    sa4rga04rf/12 - i can't update firmware

    hi guys, i baught sa4rga04rf/12 with firmware virsion 1.1 ,i installed the latest songbird however when i try to update the firmware i am getting the following: "there was an error when checking for new firmware. please verify your network connection and try again" Needless to say my network connection is fine - i am able to browse through the support pages through songbird also. Any ideas how to fix this?

    Could you tell us what OS you are using on your PC? Is it not Windows7 by any chance?

    Oook then, hence the problem! In Windows 7 you should simply run Philips Songbird as an administrator, this will solve it:

    Right click on Philips Songbird icon.
    Alternatively, select Start menu -> All programs -> Philips Songbird.
    Click “Run as administrator”.
    If prompted, click on Yes. Philips Songbird will be started.
    Connect your player to the computer.
    Update your player again.

    This should definitely solve this issue! Let me know how it went!

    Hi William, i did as you advised and i got to the point when Philips SongBird asks me to install the new firmware, i click yes and then comes a screen saying there was an error installing the firmware, to try disconnecting the device and try again. Do you have any ideas how can i sort this out?
