    Unhappy USB Freezing

    Hey guys!

    32PFL5008K/12 with two problem.

When watching a 1080p mkv video through the usb port, the tv freezes up and than i can't do anything with it. I have to pull out the power cable to solve the problem. After that, the tv starts again and everything's ok. (The firmware is up to date.) But during the next video playback, it happens again. Sometimes the video freezes up every 5 minutes and it's really dissapointing. I tried a lot of external device (thumbdrives and external hdd's with power adapter) but nothing change.

The brightness becomes brighter for a few seconds and then automatically
re-setting to normal. This thing is happens 7-8 times in a minute and 3-4 times in a week

    I hope you can help!

    Thanks!

    Hi Viktor82,

    Welcome to the TV forum.

Please ensure that the files you are attempting to play are supported by your TV.

You can find the overview of MKV support on page 68 of the user manual:
    http://download.p4c.philips.com/file...12_dfu_eng.pdf

Ensure both the video and audio codecs are supported and that the bitrate is 30Mbit/sec or below.

Regarding the brightness, please check your picture settings:

    1.
HOME > [Setup] > [TV settings] > [Picture] > [Pixel Plus HD] / [Pixel Precise HD] > [Dynamic contrast] and [Dynamic backlight]

    2.
HOME > [Setup] > [TV settings] > [Picture] > [Advanced] > [Light sensor]

You can find more information about these settings on page 35 of the user manual.

For more info on how the Light sensor works please see this post:

    Best regards,
    Ina

    Hi Ina!

    Thanks your quick response!

I checked the codecs and it's all suppported formats and the bitrate is under 30 Mbit/sec. The maximum bitrate i found is 17,5mbps. When i play this high bitrate video at the first time, everything going well for some minutes. I've got good picture and sound quality...the playback failed after 10 minutes, and several days later i can watch the whole video without any problem. I dont't know what changed but it was interesting.

    Best regards,

    Viktor

    Hi Viktor,

So the file is playing as it should now? Perhaps it could be a good idea to re-encode the file again, as it could be due to a minor corruption maybe.

    Best regards,
    Ina
