    Thumbs up Experience thread - FW 0.100.0.0 (v0.100) - for 4xx7 and 5xx7 series - 2012

    Hi all,

    The new FW is live. For technical feedback (pos. and neg. points) please post here:
    http://philips.to/1ew8mFM

    This thread is more for details and discussions.
    This FW is applicable to EU models only.

    IMPORTANT:
    1. After upgrading your TV, it is necessary to perform a "cold start". This means that, after the TV is running again (after the update), shut down the TV, wait 1 minute (till all components are shut down), and unplug the TV from the mains (pull power cord) for 2 minutes before starting again.

    2. If your TV menu language is selected as Portuguese, follow the instructions below:
    • After you have inserted the USB flash drive to the TV, please wait for 30 seconds. The software upgrade starts automatically.
    • If the software upgrade does not start automatically, disconnect the power cable from the power outlet. Do not remove your USB flash drive. Wait for one minute then reconnect the power cable, the software upgrade starts automatically.

    3. You are highly recommended to update your TV with the Standby software version 99.0.0.0. You may download the Standby software from the FAQ “What should I do when my TV turns on and off by itself and/or does not respond to the remote control?” (go to support page http://www.support.philips.com/suppo...g_selector.jsp, select country/language, search for your model number, go to FAQ's and search for this FAQ).

    Dear Santa Claus since we have been good Philips customers this year, and we endured all the bugs of our TV, we would like to see a software upgrade under the tree. Many thanks

    Hi,

    I still have issues with playing media files. I cannot fast forward and rewind any media file.
    The support chat doesn't want to help cause they say it's a case of illegal files or not supported codecs. But it's not fast-forwarding and rewinding ANY media file, legally bought music, self shot camera movies, nothing, so I think this is a software issue. Can something be done about this? No firmware update has resolved this problem.

    Hi,

    I missed an option that was in the olders software of 2k9 tv models. I think this is a very important option:
    When change a channel there is not any information of the current-next program show. Only can see if press "info" button, in the olders software versions (in tv´s of 2009 like 32pfl8404h) this info shows automatically. Its very usefull.
    Can you include this option by default in next version of firmware please?

    Thanks for all!

    Hi Philips,
    The main problems for me again not solved:
    - no EPG for the Bulgarian DVBT channels at all;
    - no clock/data synchronization;
    - "cannot connect to a Philips server" message displayed to start the smart functions. the TV is connected to the internet;
    I wrote a mail one Year ago to the local Philips support, and they told me that they work on the problems. Like a technical person it difficult for me to believe, how difficult is to change some program lines in the software and that can take more than one year to solve it if really somebody is working on it.
    Please tell me how can I solve the problems EPG, or add additional manual settings in the next release to adjust the addresses of the servers.

    TY in advance

    The fact that the TV works very bad, everything goes very slow, the dlna function does not work if I connect via wifi. both cost out a software that solves all problems? I am very disappointed with the TV, I do not think I repeat with philips, I expect an update soon. Somebody do if we can not sell televisions that funcionene bad. The only good thing is that it looks great.
    Sorry for the English.

    The 2 newest firmware updates SUCKCS ( 100 and 99) I NEED TO DOWNGRADE AN OLDER FIRMWARE LIKE 93 or 96, at least with this firmware the natural motion works fine in all playbacks modes, USB, TV,.. etc

    Please PHILIPS, UPLOAD OLDER FIRMWARES for can downgrade the TV in order to choose the better firmware for each TV model.

    47PFL4307K with horrible firmware 100.

    By trying to do that, you risk bricking your TV. Even if you find an older firmware version floating around somewhere on the 'nets, I highly recommend you don't try downgrading the TV.

    I have an 47PFL4007H/12. Since I installed the firmware 100 is a disaster. TV turns on and off by itself. It does not work smart tv. loses the hdmi connections. and more. philips shame! It 's the worst firmware I've ever seen on a TV. I seriously doubt that the next is still a philips tv

    Thanks for advicement, but ANY firmware modify other hardware parts, only modify a BIOS (ROM) and is not a cause of malfuntion on ANY Tv, TDT, mobile, etc.... its software, not hardware.

    I already downgrade from firmware 100 to 97, and everythig is allright. Dlna don´t work, but don´t work with firmware 100 too.

    bye

    There are two solutions to this problem:
    1. Uncheck the automatic channel update.
    2. Install the Philips power on/off fix.

    If you cannot uncheck the automatic channel update, perhaps Philips could disable that by default in a new software release? It has solved my problems. That should at least not be that hard. Perhaps it results in some UPCs not working all that well with the TV, but I guess most people would prefere that to a TV with a life of its own.

    Searching this forum I did find a link to a Philips support page with a small file that was supposed to fix the power issue. Since 1. worked for me, I never installed the small update.

    Recently, official technical service (Philips Spain- Sermicro) was changed the SSB in garanty in my 47PFL4307K, but still failing playing any MKV files from USB HDD when its turning ON HD Natural Motion. Dropping frames every 5 seconds +/-. all my mkv files and HDD has good, working fine in my WD TV player, and the TV works fine with all this movies by HDMI and WD TV.
    This problem NOT happens with first firmware had the TV, version 93.0.0.0. and start to fail with the updates. i have lastest version 100.0.0.0. and I couldn`t go back to version 93.
    ¿when PHILIPS go to solve this problem?

    Bye
