The fact that an FW is old is itself not a reason for an updated version. My Nikon is a couple of years old but still only have one single update.

However, considering the number of bugs in the Philips FW, it should have been addressed long ago. I currently have no problems with my TV, so I would be most hesitant to update. But if it would add DTS support then yes (which I assume requires new hardware as well).

Dear Philips considering the amount of bugs software when you plan to release a new version which includes the bugs fixing?
Otherwise if you don't intend to develop new software versions for 2012 series TVs please let us know.....

    Hi Ina....there's a good news for: http://www.supportforum.philips.com/...ll=1#post77538

...but no news for 5xx7 2012 series? Philips has decided to leave his consumers to its own defects/bugs?

    many thanks for your answer....

The silence is deafening here, the way Philips goes about their TV's makes me sure to stay away from Philips whenever I buy another TV. Thanks for the warning Philips

end of warranty -> end of support ?!
The software of my 42pfl4007K ist still buggy. I already updated the firmware 3 times! The best advise, that I got (not from Philips support) was to deactivate the HbbTV and Automatic Channel Update function. Since that time the TV set is "usable" :-(

I've connected my PHILIPS TV 46PFL5507M with Philips (yes.... I'm definitively a masochist) SoundBar HTL3140B through ARC-HDMI connection.
Right behavior: When I'm turning on the TV, ARC connection automatically turns on the soundbar and internal speakers shut down their volume.

    ....sometimes (more often):

Wrong behavior: When I'm turning on the TV, the soundbar still remains turned off and internal speakers shut down their volume also.

So the only way to solve the issue is restarting the TV again and again as long as everything works fine.

Philips developers wake up and release a new software update for this TV series

Yes I did, but in fact the issue occurs sometimes (I noticed that happens while turning on the TV and if you press some button on the remote control, i.e.: channel changing and/or volume increase/decrease)

    Hi,
Any way i can stop the automatic update requests?
I now get multiple alerts every day and i simply dont want it.

Last 99 update was a disaster, 1st it bricked my tv and took me a day to repair. When i finally got it to work tv switches off randomly and when using pauze for 10 minutes everything freezes
I'm happy with sw 98 and dont want any experiments in my living room.

So,.... Any ideas on how to get rid of those multiple per day sw update requests?
( dont get me wrong, if it was 1 per year i would not ask)
