    App AirStudio + is live now

    As I said in another thread, it is just great.
    Good job with both the app and the firmware.

    Maybe a bit too late hence I would suggest Philips to communicate more about this.

    I know people who either gave up with their AW or did not dare to buy one because of these software issues. Look at the product satisfaction ratings on many web sites.

    You now have a good product at a good price (I can compare) it is time for your marketing to be a bit more visible.

    Hi,

    Ok a new app, but still build with the old Technology, please please look at Sonos and learn how to build a usefull app!! And again, still not possible to use the app in portrait mode on iPad.

    Pfffffffff.

    Please take new developers or company!

    I don't care about the 'technology' that is in use, I care about the results and I care that it does what I bought it for. It plays Deezer, it plays radios, it plays my library, swiftly, nicely without hick-ups unlike what existed in the past. The results is what counts for me, not the how they did it.

    1) As I am working in IT, please explain to me what means 'old' technology?

    2) I am also not sure why you qualify this application 'non useful'. Really? not useful???

    I was the very first one to critisize and was louder than most for the last couple of years (starting with the series 1), have a look at my message history, but in my view your comments are unfair. It does what it claims it should do. The user interface could be 100 times better, I am sure, but who cares, I don't spend my time watching my tablet or smartphone, I prefer to listen to the music and have something that works when I need it.

    BTW, I can also compare with competition (including Sonos) and this is certainly not a bad job.

    Now, about the portrait mode, wow, that's a very critical and strategic feature worth to be very disssatified with.

    Still did not install the new firmware and the new app, but reading your comments K1200rs, I get a warm feeling that I should do it.

    K1200rs? You must be a motorcyclist. My dad drives a R1200rt, you may see him some time in the French alps as he has friends living there at plateau d'Assy.

    Installed, works fine, app is certainly a lot better.
    BUT..... I had to lower the bass en increase Treble enourmously, as the sound appeared to be very dull, almost no high if rulers are in middle position.

    So... Did I make progress with this upgrade "soundwise"? That is a big NO !!! I should have stayed with the previous situation.

    Does anybody have an idea what could be the cause of this behavior?

    Yes I did.
    5.63 is now on the speakers.
    Immediately after the update I remarked the dull sound.

    What is less funny is that I cannot see all tracks on my iPad anymore.
    For a number of albums, about half of them, it says there is no content......
    So I have an annoying problem with this app.
    The old app says: "Format not supported by the player"

    Basiscally this means that the new firmware does a bad job, not only it destroy the quality of the sound, but also it greatly reduces functionality.
    I am very not satisfied by this all.

    @Support can you give me a hint?

    Dear Caroline,

    Kindly check if those tracks are purchased tracks in year 2010 or before. If that is so, those are DRM protected tracks and the behavior not showing in the app is normal.

    To correct this, you may have to do a fresh download from itunes again to make the tracks unprotected.

    I will try to send you a track. But this may be not earlier than tonight.
    They are e.g. Tracks from the album "the unforgiving" of Within Temptation, I bought them via iTunes.
    This album is from march 2011.
    I will also check what other type of tracks do not work, it is quite a lot, I guess only one third of the tracks on my iPad is working, the rest does not.

    I always work with the latest version of iTunes. How can I unprotect them again? I have never seen an unprotection knob in iTunes.
    Oh, sorry, I now read what you mean, I have to download the tracks again....


    Did you also do some thinking on the dull sound?
    Why is it not possible to go back a firmware version in order to check or go back to a working situation ?

    Ok... Well the problem with the non working songs is solved. I found out that the same songs just simply worked from my iPhone. So there must have been something weird going on my iPad.
    After entering the music app, I remarked that the songs I was trying to play, somehow were in the cloud, so the albums seemed to be there, but the content was somewhere in the cloud, don't have a clue how this happened.
    After downloading from the cloud, they work flawlessly. So the mistake was fully on my side.
    Thanks for al the good suggestions as they brought me to thinking about what was going on.

    Remains the dull sound. Do others observe this also? Or is everything with you crisp and clear?
