    Spotify from PC?

I have just got the AW9000 speakers and have set up Spotify to work through Air Studio on my Samsung tablet. However, I'm unsure how to get Spotify to work through Media Manager on the PC.. This must be possible, surely? It seems to only give me the option of playing music from the computer but the music I want to listen to is all online. Any help would be very gratefully received as if this can't be done, I will need to return the speakers. Thanks in advance

    Dear user,

The below thread should give you more info on this topic.
    http://www.supportforum.philips.com/...gs-(URL-calls)

You can find your device’s IP in AirStudio+ (AirStudio + -> Device settings -> Device ID.

Having known the IP, you can then input the address link:
    http://your device’s IP:8889/index

Replace the green part in the URL by your device's IP.

Let us know if this helps.

    Kind regards,
    Philips Moderation Team

Hi there, thanks a lot for this and yes, it works! I'm not sure how I would have found this out without asking on here though. I can't see it explained anywhere. Anyway, I realised that I would need Spotify Premium to be able to continue playing through my speakers after 30 days so I will be listening to downloaded music by the looks of it as I certainly didn't plan to spend £10 a month on Spotify. Thanks for the help though.

Try SWYH on your PC. It streams digitally spotify to the AWXXXX.

Yes, it does stream, brilliant! It runs about 20 secs after I request it to though so it's always out of sync with the computer. That doesn't matter for just listening to music though. Saves me faffing around downloading songs to music manager though. Thanks a lot

That was a good tip! Thank you very much. SWYH works very well, although with a time delay. Why doesn't the manufacturer build in such possibilities in the software? Or did I overlook something? I will gladly continue my first experiments with SWYH.

AW9000 speakers have a perfect Sound. No doubt about the HW/Sound quality.
Afaik SWYH is the only SW to use to stream audio from e.g. youtube to my AW9000 speakers. It is quite unstable though....and I dont like the ~20 sec delay.
Really a shame Philips could not make similar SW

Hmm, if streaming of Youtube (or even SPotify from the APP) is needed, then Airplay speakers work. E.g. a DS9860W.

I personally hate Airplay speakers, as they suck my devices batteries empty.

I'm quite happy with the AW speaker I've -- only use the APP to trigger the start of the playback. Then kill the APP and let the playback happen. Also, I'm so glad not to use a PC, fight with firewalls, crashing HDD's (as the PC is too long on), etc. ...

If I consider playback using my AW9000 speakers, I've to pay for Spotify/Deezer. The problem is that Spotify and Deezer are quite expensive where I live (Denmark) (~18$, ~14Euro per month!). Hence streaming youtube and Spotify over laptop is a good alternative.

Especially when visited by friends who wants to modify playlist etc. Friday/Saturday evenings and nights. The spotify/deezer GUI on laptop/phoneOS is no match to the very simple/bad GUI on AW9000.

What makes me keep my AW9000? --> Sound quality!! + I got it cheap (~270 Euro)

I really wonder why philips cannot make a similar product like SWYH to extend the capability of AW-series. It would be a good sales argument (e.g. like airplay)---> Could Philips Customer Service please take this input for future SW releases?.
