    TV Model: 32PFL4258H
    Previous Firmware: 2.21?

    Positive:
+ Not enough experience yet (TV is brand-new)

    Negative:
    - After installing the latest software via USB the message "your host is not fully ci+ compliant" appeared. After contacting provider Ziggo, Philips customer care and several hours of (re-)installing everything without success, the TV has been returned to the shop ...

With the previous software (used during less than one hour) there were no issues.

    TV Model: 42PFL5028H/12
Previous Firmware: ????? Installed 3.0 right out of the box

    Positive:
    + Great Picture and Colors

    Negative:
    - In the manual it says you can re-order channels, but that option is missing in "List -> Options" for Digital and Analog channels (I have seen on someone elses set that it should be possible )
    - The model in the shop had the previous software and was much quicker and more responsive.
    - The look and feel seems sluggish (It takes long after startup to select a channel or source)

    Hi Ger 073,

Who is your channel provider? We have recently had confirmation that provider Ziggo (NL) do not allow for channel re-ordering, which is why the option is not available in the menu.

    Best regards,
    Ina

It is indeed Ziggo, and they confirmed that it is not possible to re-order channels !!

But the other negatives still stand, the TV-Set is not as responsive as the same set in the shop, with an earlier Software version.

Netflix isn't working after new firmware!

    Hey there.

After update on my Philips 42PFL5008T, Netflix is bug. Sometimes subtitles are not clear, blurry like in picture.

I tried everything, nothing helps. Can you release fix? On previous firmware never problems.

    Hi,

    TV Model: 32PFL4258H
    Previous Firmware: 2.25

    Positive:

    Negative:
-I confirm Dwalin's post: when HbbTV is turned on, channels names are not displayed when swithing channel, and the volume bargraph is not displayed when changing volume.
-I confirm also that when TV is turned on and once channel is displayed, i.e. sound and picture are there, it takes some additional time (say 40 seconds) for remote control to become effective (changing volume, switching channel, etc.).
    - More anoying: sometimes the pictures are stretched horizontaly and/or vertically resulting in uncomfortable aspect ration (subtitles become no more visible). And then come back to normal after a certain amount of time. Same and even worse with SCART playback (e.g. DVD).
    - Even more anoying: sometimes remote control has no more effect. We do see the TV front pannel led blinking when button is pressed but TV does not react. It's then no more possible to turn off TV and power cord needs to be unplugged. This happened 4 or 5 times during last week. Thought it was related to ethernet cable but actually happens whatever the ethernet cable is plugged or not.
    - HbbTv: often the TV displays channels specific information of another channel. For example if you watch channel A that displays "press red button to enter channel replay menu". If you switch to channel B, the TV will display again channel A related menu. It seems it happens only if channle B has no channel specific menus.

    Regards.

It looks like the pincode problem is re-introduced. Sometimes when channel switching and sometimes it just pops up. Very frustrating.

    TV Model: 42PFL5008H
    Previous Firmware: 2.30
    Negative:
-The lack of smart tv ambilight function control, lack of home control function, the inability to control the image format, the inability enable 3D smart TV applications.
-After sending the file dlna - the problem of image format, disappears a few items and aspect ratio does not change, reduced image
-After sending the file dlna - when trying to read files from the connected pendrive, TV reboots.
Each new update brings nothing and does not improve the main drawbacks of the TV. Too rarely appear updates. Are these defects can not be eliminated after such a long time?

    Tv-model: 24pfl4208h
Previous firmware: 2x (did not check version before updating brand new tv)

    Positive:
    - ziggo itv now works
    - Very versatile television. I could make a list of al the functions I really really dig, but so far the slowness of most of them makes for a longer 'negative' list.

    Negative:
The tv is very slow to respond on many many levels:
    - most important: EPG is very slow. It is slow to load, slow to navigate, slow to switch channels. It seems to be waiting for something before responding to a arrow-down press and moving to the next line (channel) when moving the 'cursor' through the EPG.

    - channel up/down is on the slow site ( dvb will never be as quick as analog, but this tv is much slower then humax Stb). A responsive EPG would make this less of an issue, since you don't have to go through all channels to see what's on.

    - after resuming from standby a message is displayed about channels having been updated during stand by. It takes a while for the message to disappear and for the tv to accept any remote control input.

    - smart tv menu is also slow. I suspect the default widgets (videoland and other payed content) are slowing things down. They take I while to load.

    - also noticed some freezes and even a spontaneous reboot when trying to play some movies through media server. Most files work fine though.

In general: may be other Philips 2013 line televisions have stronger specs (CPU? More memory?). If that is the case than I truly hope the 4208 version of the firmware will be optimized for the less powerful platform.

Question: can we expect a new version in the (near) future to at least speed op de EPG? EPG from tv-channel is to slow as well as EPG from internet. Making either one snappy and usable would make this a great and versatile television. Otherwise I might have to return it and reinstall my old tv an seperate Stb.
