Thumbs down Sound drops and macroblocking when PTA01 is connected to 40PFL8605K02

I have a problem with my 40PFL8605K02 (FW v0.140.34.0) as soon as I connect the PTA01 for wireless connectivity. The TV signal is connected via DVB-C with some HD channels.

Without the PTA01 connected, everything works fine. As soon as the PTA01 is connected and the WLAN is set up (with WPA encryption, tried DHCP and static IP), I get intermittent sound drops of 1-5 s sometimes in combination with macroblocking. This is not very reproducable and happens every 1-5 mins. This happens especially often with the HD stations.

Does anybody have the same problem? Any ideas what to change at the TV or WLAN settings to solve this?

BTW: The problem has persisted with every FW since I've bought the TV (Feb. 2011).

    Maybe there is some interference?

Do you have a USB extension cable, to plug the WIFI dongle through the cable, and move it away from your DVB-C cable/decoder/box?

Lightbulb WIFI - DVB-C interference problem

    Thanks petasis,

I connected the WIFI dongle with a 0.5 m USB extension cable and the problem seems to be solved! Havn't had any sound drops in the last 4 days.

Strange that you cannot connect the cables as it is shown in the manual, but might also be a shielding problem of my DVB-C cable.

Let's hope that all the other problems can be solved by firmware updates in the near future.

It is possible that your DVB-T cable is not shielded enough.
The other possibility is interference to travel inside the TV...
