[Bug] standby function of TV with multiple scheduled recordings is not working
Hi,
I have a big issue when I programmed multiple scheduled recordings with the standby function of my TV (58PFL9956H/12, Q5553, 14.105 - was also present with 14.104).
Scheduled recording (via IP-EPG):
- on Tuesday I programmed 4 broadcasts:
=> Thursday to Friday (23.00 - 2.00)
=> Friday to Saturday (22.00 - 1.00)
=> Saturday to Sunday (22.00 - 1.00)
=> Sunday to Monday (22.00 - 1.00)
Observation (Issue, Bug):
- On Wednesday morning (no broadcast was recorded yet), the TV was in "semi standby". The TV was running (network, USB HDD were on), only the screen was off.
- On Thursday morning (the first broadcast was recorded now), the TV was in "semi standby". The TV was running (network, USB HDD were on), only the screen was off.
- On Friday morning (the second broadcast was recorded now), the TV was in "semi standby". The TV was running (network, USB HDD were on), only the screen was off.
My bet: On Monday morning, the TV will be shut down completely!
So, If I'm programming stuff in the future, when I'm away for 1 or 2 weeks, the TV will run for 24/7. Is this how the TV should work?
What to do?

Hi Alex,
Let me make sure I understand your question correctly.
Are you saying the TV does not revert back into standby after a scheduled recording has finished, inbetween recordings?
Thanks!
Best regards,
Ina

Hi,
correct - TV is running, but the screen is off (and audio is off).
But also before the first recording - if at least one night is between programming and first recording. This indicates, that the daily connection to the IP-EPG servers @night (the TV goes on for some minutes) isn't finished correctly...

Hi,
to finish my observations:
- On Saturday morning (the third broadcast was recorded now), the TV was in "semi standby". The TV was running (network, USB HDD were on), only the screen was off.
- On Sunday morning (the fourth broadcast was recorded now), the TV was in "semi standby". The TV was running (network, USB HDD were on), only the screen was off.
- On Monday morning (all broadcasts was recorded now), the TV was off. No Network, no USB-HDD were one.

Hi,
I did another recording:
- programming was done on Monday evening (around 19.30h) for a broadcast on Wednesday in the early morning at 1.15h till 3.13h
- at thuesday morning the TV was again in semi-standby (network on, USB-HDD on, display off, audio off)
Since the TV connects itself every night to the Philips servers (in this case: early morning on Thuesday), the shutdown procedure does not work properly if a recording is scheduled after this daily procedure.
Please fix this!

Hi,
one more comment - this problem exists since summer last year (I don't do recording very often). In the meantime, I had also a SSB replacement... so, it should not be a hardware problem...

Hi,
I found out another interesting observation:
On these days, where the TV is in Semi-Standby (where one recording is scheduled one day later or so) and I just switch on the TV (which is instantly on), the TV shuts down automatically after EXACT 4 HOURS!
Observation:
- TV connects to Philips Servers at 6.15h in the moring (and due to scheduled recordings, the TV does not shut down properly -> Semi-Standby)
- I switch on TV at e.g. 9.00h (TV is instantly on)
- TV now shuts down at 10.15h automatically
And I did some interactions between 9.00h and 10.15h (means: switching channels, changing volume).
