On Windows 8.1, the application Intel Widi can't be installed. Because this features is integrate on "Control Panel" of Windows 8.1
    Please check that :
    http://www.intel.com/support/fr/wire.../CS-034485.htm

Nevertheless, with my other computer on Windows 8 (not 8.1) with application Intel Widi : i can found my Philips TVs on application Widi. BUT when i try to connect : Windows launch Network Discovery for search new device (the TV) but there was not found.

The problem can be come from TV ?

    Hi Ina,

    I have a very similar problem with Windows 8.1 and a 47PFL5008k.

At least I can connect to the TV, it is extremely slow though (a delay of about half a minute, so not usable at all) and I loose the connection every few seconds or minutes. I also have a Belkin Screencast WiDi adapter connected to the TV and with that it works just fine. So it must be a problem with the TV or its software.

Regarding your advice: WiDi is a product by Intel, not by Microsoft. And the newer Intel 7 Series chips (as in my laptop) don't need the WiDi software anymore (since Windows 8.1) and the software does not even support these chips on Windows 8.1 anymore. Instead Intel recommends to uninstall the WiDi software on Windows 8.1 and use the built in Windows 8.1 external display feature:
    http://supportkb.intel.com/wireless/...oft-Windows-81

So please fix this problem in your TV software.
    Thank you in advance!

    Best regards,
    Helge

    Hi,
I have 40PFL8008S/12 TV and an Intel Wireless-AC 7260 wifi adapter in my laptop with WiDi and Windows 7.
With the latest Intel drivers and TV firmware installed, connection via the WiDi application is not possible. The TV appears in the list and when clicking Connect, a code/8 digit PIN appears on the TV and I enter it in the WiDi app, but then it just hangs... and after the 2 mins timeout on the TV, it fails.

However, if opening WiDi on the laptop, and on the TV I browse the network I can see Intel WiDi in the list. When selecting it, a Digital Media Player appears in the list of the WiDi app on my laptop and asks me if I want to share my media. After selecting Yes, the screen is mirrored on the TV.
But Intel restricted the WiDi resolution to 720p, on the 2nd gen processors. If I want FHD, I need a 3rd or 4th generation processor.

So, I think the Miracast connection of the TV doesn't work properly... Shouldn't the connection be made only from the WiDi app, after entering the 8 digit PIN??

    You're right...
    Specifics
    • Miracast on this TV is subject to the HDCP protocol and
cannot display copy-protected premium content sent by a
    device.
    • The maximum video resolution supported is 720p.

So if your PC's native resolution is FHD and want to use the TV as an external display, it's best to stick to HDMI...
Nice one TP Vision! Even smartphones are full hd these days... like HTC One.

I don't know if it's the new TV FW for 40PFL8008S, or the driver for my Intel WiDi card, but now the Miracast connection works when clicking connect and entering the 8 digit PIN.

Can't the 720p restriction be removed? I'd really like to use the TV as an external display for my laptop, without cables...
Also there is a 1 second delay in the image.. Anyone have a solution for this? Or is it another bug? My Wi-Fi connection on the TV is constant at 130 Mbps and my laptop card at 300 Mbps.
