    Favourite channel list lost

    Hi,

On my 37PFL6007H/12 TV with software version 150.089 (and earlier versions of the software), every 4 to 8 weeks or so it happens that my favourite channel list looses some channels. The lost channels can then be found in the 'New channel list'.
Recreating the favourite channel list works but a few weeks later the problem occurs again.

The favourite channel list consists of DVB-C channels only. Now my cable provider (Ziggo Netherlands) might rearrange the channel order or frequencies for technical reasons, but I would expect a modern TV to handle this and recognise the new channels as rearranged channels. If not, what is the use of a favourite channel list anyway?

There was an earlier thread addressing this very problem (http://www.supportforum.philips.com/...favorites-list) but it was closed without solution.

Has anyone a solution or maybe a workaround for this problem?

    Favourite channel list lost

    Hi,

My favourite channel list looses some channels every so many weeks. The lost channels reappear in the New channel list. I can reassign them as favourite channels and put them in the right order. But then a few weeks later, the same thing happens. All channels in my favourite list are DVB-C channels by the way.

My provider (Ziggo Netherlands) might rearrange channel frequencies for technical reasons, but I would expect a modern TV to handle this correctly and recognise the shifted frequencies as being an already known channel so that it will stay in the favourite channel list. What else is the use of such a list?

    TV: 37PFL6007H/12
SW: 150.089 (but earlier versions had the same problem)

Automatic channel update is ON (cannot be turned off)

I've seen other threads on this forum with the same problem, but they were closed without any solution given.

Is there a solution to this problem or maybe a workaround?

Got the same problem with the same cable provider a while ago. Ziggo says they did not do a thing. I lost it a couple of times during watching.

    Hi guys,

Since Ziggo do not allow for channel re-ordering and disabling Automatic channel updates, there would not be a work around for this.

If Ziggo send out channel updates (which I am sure they do on a regular basis, just like other providers), then channels will sometimes be allocated new channel frequencies/positions. The TV will then not be able to associate that particular channel with a favourite list allocation any longer, as it does not recognise it as the same channel. The channel will then have to be set as a favourite again.

    Best regards,
    Ina

    Hi Ina,

Thanks for your reply. What I don't understand, however, is why the TV wouldn't be able to recognise the 'new' channels as favourites. The channel name and logo are the same, I myself can recognise the channel as the same channel, so why shouldn't the TV?
And could there also be another reason that the TV looses the favourites? We are focusing on channel reordering now, but there might as well be some other cause for this problem.

    Regards,
    Daan
