Customization of ok and navigation buttons

Hi,

my suggestion is to have a setup-menu, where I can chose some short-cuts for the ok-button and the navigation buttons around the ok-button since these buttons are without any funktion while watching tv.

Maybe I want the "sleep timer" on the ok-button. Someone else prefer the teletext on the ok-button the next customer prefer NetTV on the ok button and so on. The same for the navigation buttons and the blue button (as far a I see, the blue-button is also without function while watching tv).

So it will be the best to create a possibility to customize the tv by choosing some short-cuts for ok and navigation in tv-mode (“watch tv”). And there are a lot of functions that someone may will access by only one key hit:
- sleep timer
- video text
- program guide
- channel listing
- Net-TV (main page or best will be to have the possibility to choose a special service e.g. a alternative tv-program-guide instead of (IP)-EPG or any preferd news-page and so on)
- devices from the home menu (Browse USB, DVD-Player, Scenea, etc.)
- "What's on"
- subtitels
- smart picture
- smart sound
- ambilight on/off
- jump to a special tv channel
- audio language
- headphone volume up/down (the headphone volume is awful deep in the config menu )

Hi NetTVMod,

its ok if I a future model will find the way in my living room as valutation for my ideas ;-)

But seriously, I understand that some ideas will only be implemented to future models. But maybe it will be a idea to honor the best forum idea once a year with one of your products (e.g. new or higher tv model, a bd player, a soundbar and so on - I think there is a broad portfolio.

Here is an other "high end" idea: Perhaps it will be possible to "upgrade" a older model by purchasing some software components. But this means that the main SW is bug free and maybe I will pay for an App called "MenuCustomization" that is avaliable for my tv in oder to keep it up to date.

Still asking why Philips lost credibility on TV market ?

Every software maker release a product and make it 'living'. With bug correction of course, but not only. Functionnalities are continuously added/fixed/modified simply because one day you have to launch something and 'everything' cannot be written in one day.

Don't understand this sado-maso attitude. Ton of complaints everywhere for stupid functions easily fixed.

I agree... with one exception: when a function is removed after I bought the product (the Widget function on the blue button in our case), it would be very reasonable to expect a new function in its place.

May I suggest the function I'm missing most: a short list with all connected devices and internal tuners, complete with "one push swap", like Alt-Tab in windows.

I can understand that some features or improvements, should be considered for future product lines... but I can NOT understand that some basic or easy improvements could not be incorpored to actual products, with firmware updates... So, can I understand that you're saying that we must not be waiting for any software updates, other than bug corrections??? (sincerely, tv software is full of bugs, and with a great space for improvements... only if I had kwnon this before buying my philips tv, maybe I had purchased another brand)
