    Question Software: 46PFL3208T/12 and 46PFL3108T/12

    Hi

I'm wondering if it's possible to flash the software for 46PFL3208T into my 46PFL3108T to access smart tv?

My 46PFL3108T has a working network connection on the back, when I connect it to my LAN the tv gets an IP address and I can verify the connection by pinging the tv from my computers.
I can also see the ip-address in the tv gui.

However, there is currently no way for me to browse my dlna and/or network shares using the tv. I guess it's simply not available in the software.

    46PFL3208T/12 - software is 143MB
    46PFL3108T/12 - software is 67MB

I'm very tempted to go ahead and flash the 46PFL3208T software into my 46PFL3108T. Any advice from the pros?

    Best regards,
    Daniel

    Thanks for your reply!

Ok, yes I understand that the TVs have different branches for their firmware. But I wonder if the firmware for 46PFL3208T is compatible with 46PFL3108T. What would happen if I try to flash my TV (46PFL3108T) with the 46PFL3208T firmware? Would I brick the TV? Would the TV complain and abort the update process?

To me, as a layman, it looks like everything is there for DLNA to work, except for the software.
The TV already has decoders for all kinds of video (divx, avi, etc through USB).
The TV has a working network interface (LAN, that is pingable)
The only thing missing is software to browse the network shares and stream content to the built-in decoders. My guess is that the missing software is bundled in the larger firmware of 46PFL3208T.

Yes it should be possible albeit perhaps not just by using the smart tv firmward, i.e. modding might be needed

but I do not even understand when it has a network cable connection if not for smart?
i guess it maybe can. maybe

    i use chromecast for now

but will like to hear more input
