    USB MKV Subtitles

    Hey,

I have been reading om this forum and internet all day and still can't find a conclusief answer.

I have bought this tv in 2012: model: 40PFL8606H /12, FW: Q555x_x.14.96.0 (Date published: 2012-03-02) release for tv550r3:Q555x_x.14.96.0_bld27a.

If I read on this forum and internet I would say that an european tv from after 2011 with fw 14.84 and higher would have the ability to show subtitles.

But when I plug in my USB I can only see subtitles when I burn them in (MKV files).

    Please tell me
    - does my tv with current fw support subtitles
    if yes
    - what subtitle formats does it support
    - from what sources (DLNA usb,..)
    - does the subtitles have to be separt files or can they be in mkv
    if no
    - does a fw upgrade make this possible
    - same questions as under yes for new firmware

    thanks

    Hi morrigan,

your TV (from 2011) does not support Subtitles in external Files.
Subtitles need to be Hardcoded to the Videofile.

Afaik, for DLNA there are some Servers available which can do that on the Fly (Tversity).

    Regards
    Thomas
