Angry When turning on the TV it doesn't go to the last source used

    Hi,

I just bought the 47PFL5008K TV and found the following issue:

I have 2 HDMI connections, one is for the cable box and another a streamer. But no matter which connection I was using before, when turning on the TV it always goes to the streamer connection. This is very annoying since I usually leave it on the cable to watch it, and would expect it to go back to it when I turn on the TV.

I think that before the last software update it was fine, but can't trust my memory on that (I used the TV for some days before doing the update)

I searched all the menu options for something but found nothing related.

Is this the expected normal behaviour? (would be weird since every TV usually remembers what you last watched)

    Things that I tried:
-Unplugging the TV for at least 5 min.
-Unplugging the streamer's HDMI and replugging it (of course when the streamer was unplugged the TV would turn on on the cable, but after putting it back it reverted to the unwanted behaviour)
-Redetecting the devices from the Source menu

    Thanks!

    Hi elifer,

normaly the TV should go back to last used Source BUT, if the TV gets a Signal on another Source, the TV will switch.

How can the TV gets signals? Via CEC or how we call it "EasyLink".
So if your Streamer is CEC enabled and does send a Signal through HDMI to the TV, the TV will switch to the Streamer input.

    What you can do:
Go to the TV Menu and disable EasyLink for a Test.
Switch Source to Cable Box, turn the TV off and back on, which source is selected?

    Regards
    Thomas

    Hi Thomas,

This sounds possible. I will try it tonight and let you know.

I did notice (and found surprising) that the TV automatically recognized the name of the streamer (it's a PCH-A210). Is this related?

    Hi,

yes it is. Looks like your Streamer does have CEC.
Maybe you can also look to the Streamers Menu to turn it off.

    Note: CEC enables you to:
control the Streamer with the TV Remote
turn the Streamer on while TV is tuned on
Control Volume of the Streamer with the TV remote

thats only examples, it depends on how the streamer has cec enabled.

    Regards
    Thomas

Indeed, after disabling EasyLink it works normally!

My streamer doesn't have any option to turn off CEC though.

I think I can live without it.
    Thanks!
