    Dear Toengel,

    Thanks for the fast reply.

I read "somewhere else" that 171.47 fw release has a full dts support on 6xx8 models.
What I don't understand why did philips revoked this function in 171.49 and above.

I copied this text from the manual:

    "Audio Out format
If you have a Home Theatre System (HTS) with multichannel
sound processing capabilities like Dolby Digital, DTS® or
similar, set the Audio out format to Multichannel. With
Multichannel, the TV can send the compressed multichannel
sound signal from a TV channel or connected player to the
Home Theatre System. If you have a Home Theatre System
without multichannel sound processing, select Stereo."

It does not mentions that dts is unsupported , and there is a DTS logo in the printed manual what I found in the tv box.
Me and my friend (who bought 47pfl6008) are really considering to return the tv the shop because the lack of dts support, and the user manual was totally misled us.

P.S. All of the 6xx8 classmates (samsung, lg, sony) have this functionality even in lower price segment.

I guess Philips just needs to enable it. Hopefully they want to enable it - as it is - a cheaper TV than the 7xx8 series and up. Software for the 7xx8 series and above are simular. I read in the changelog that for the higher series they enabled the DTS sound since version > QF2EU-0.171.49.0 from 07-2013....

    • Enabling DTS for 7000/8000/9000

I think the 6xx8 series will not support DTS. Or am i wrong?

It Would be a nice christmas present from Philips !!!
