    Any new firmware planned?

    Hi Philips Team,

it's been quite a while since I've visited this forum and it looks to me as if the temporary shut-down of the forum was not good for it - anyway. I'm pretty much interested in the possible improvement of the current firmware of the BDP 9700 and wanted to know if there are any further updates planned before the hardware gets outdated?

I think in the thread here there are a lot of issues and improvement proposals reported which are worth being addressed by Philips engineers. So is there an update planned (when) and what is planned to be fixed? And which of the proposed improvements can we expect to see in the new firmware?
    TIA and regards,
    Gerhard

I would love to see some new unique features. Like mentioned before: 2.35 graphics in the menues. Philips have 2.35 screens, so it is logial to have matching players!

    Dear Philips guys,
please make sure that the next firmware tremendously improves response to the front buttons of
the device - it's ridiculous how often one has to press the eject button until the device decides to eject a disc. Also the auto-play feature shall be switchable.
    TIA,
    Gerhard

    Hi,

auto-play feature won't be changed. However, you can start the BDP9700 with the Home Button - then the inserted disc won't start automatically.

    Hi Toengel,

thanks for the reply. I wasn't aware of this feature, which is an acceptable work around.
