headset port broken ? or software issue ?

    Hi everybody,

I'm the owner of a 46pfl8007K (firmware 000.150.091.000), and I've tried the headset port (rear top most connector on the left when facing the screen).

    I currently got 2 errors :

    • Plug a headset doesn't cut the sound of the speakers, you have to lower the control to 0 to not hear them.
    • You no volume control over the headset at all, ie, you have to deal with the volume.

Does I need to service this tv set or does this is a firmware issue ?

thanks if you can test this on your tv

    Hi,

it is a feature, that you can control the volume of the head phone out and the TV speaker separately. So, your first bullet is not a bug. You can control the head phone volume in the TV configuration setup or just use the MyRemote app.

    Hi toengel@alex

Thanks a lot, at least that's good news that I don't have to service my tv

Anyway, there is an issue in the feature in my point of view :

As the menu of the tv are overly slow, how can we proceed to use a headset if we can't change the volume fast when the volume ? It's not uncommon to have to change the volume several times in row depending on what you play for example... the current implementation is a pain, and I can't see this as a feature, as I can't get any real world scenario that would need the feature that you describe... do you get one realist scenario in mind ?

One great feature would be to render the headset volume availlable on the remote, putting the speakers on the menu when the headset are plugged in.

    Regards.

    Xavier.

Dear kouik (Xavier), on this forum there are already many posts that talk about the issue you mention. Unfortunately, many of us would this "enhanced functionality" (on other TV's brands is a standard functionality)......but it seems that Philips does not want implement it!!

Thanks for your feedback smdb As I was first more angry about other defect, and not using the headset before, I surely skipped to read the proper posts

    Regards.
