    Jarno,

    Agree with you.

We buy above average products and still have to struggle for basic. to make TV work
    It is really low.

I see that many Philips customers are having isues with the latest firmware version. It's about 6 weeks ago, since the last firmware version have been released!

i suppose that the new version needs to be realeased soon. Hopefully it fixes the majority of our problems and it was worth waiting for it!

People at Philips/TPV are still active at this forum? Does anyone have info about a new firmware release?

I have so far been able to sort it out with a cold boot of the TV-set, pull the power cord and leave it unplugged overnight.

If you search the forum there is a thread also about how to pair the remote again to the TV-set if the cold boot donít fix the problem.
I tried and works! Once again thank you for the advice. I hope in the next firmware, they fix that bug.

    Hi there,
After updating my 6008 Series TV with latest FW 0.173.44.0 I started experiencing problems with watching any video from NAS drive, or any other drive connected to my LAN (wired and wireless). There is no problem with connecting, selecting or starting videos, but after 30 minutes TV starts losing connection with media server and it is not possible to reconnect after that. In that moment TV still has LAN and internet access. To reconnect with media server I need to turn off TV from mains and wait 4-5 minutes (turning off by remote does not help). Video format is not important, same thing with every type, 30 minutes and media server is lost.
Just to be clear, before FW update everything was fine.
Any comment from Philips support? Any new update on its way?

    Regards,

Ina, are there ongoing updates soon?

    People are going crazy here.

Philips must react quicker in order to help their customers.

Once they leave for such problems, they (and whoever asks their opinion) will be lost forever.

    It's your bet.

Moreover, DTS support must be activated too. As lack of this option makes this TV deplorable.

    Hi all,

For those of your experiencing that a non-TV infrared remote control is causing your TV to shut down when pressing any button, could you please supply the set details for your TV?

***Before doing this, please disconnect all external devices connected to TV and check that the issue still occurs***

Please send the following info to me in a PM (subject: IR ISSUE):

    - Full TV model number
    - TV serial number
    - Current software version installed on TV
    - Country of residence

    - Brand and model of remote control device
    - Or brand and model of universal remote

Please only send message if info is complete.

As a temporary work around, please remove power to TV for 2-3 minutes to alliviate the issue temporarily.

Thank you all in advance for your assistance!

    Best regards,
    Ina

173.045 software is released. After a quick test I can at least say that it's the biggest improvement on UI speed so far. It is still the slowest TV interface I've ever experienced, but it's at least a relative improvement

    Hi everyone,

Yesterday I installed the 173.045 firmware. After a quick test it seems to work faster. But at the first evening I experienced a strange problem already...

My Tv start changing the Tv channel by itself; Each channel i tried, the Tv changed channel with +1:

For example I chose channel 33, so i am watching channel 33 and then the Tv changes this (after some seconds) to 34. I changed it back to 33 and again the Tv changes to 34. This repeats and repeats. Also i tried this with another Tv channels and the same happend. Each channel the Tv changes it with +1.

I tried to take of the powercable for a minute and after a quick
test it seems to work normal again. These days I will test it more!

Another people ever had this before?

    Hi Ina,

Following FW update 0.173.44.0 I have two major issued with my 47PFL6008 TV (I strictly followed FW update procedure):

    1. Media server dropouts after 30 minutes every time without any exceptions when watching videos from my network. (I have tried every suggestion from this forum and nothing helps. In the same network environment my Panasonic TV does not have any issues.)

    2. Sometimes, by itself, TV goes off or restarts. After turning on by remote controller it turns off again. 4-5 times like that and on the end stays on.

    Required information:
Full TV model number: Philips 47PFL6008K/12
    TV serial number: ZH1H1323010681
Current software version installed on TV: 0.173.44.0
Country of residence: Bosnia and Herzegovina

    Kind regards,
    Guru

Sometimes there are programs missing from the EPG.

Example: today on channel "Nederland 2"
    18:55 "Man bijt Hond" listed
    19:20 "EZ" not listed
    19:55 "Rail Away" not listed
    20:25 "Twee voor Twaalf" listed.

This is not an incidental glitch: these programs were not shown for several days in a row. Yesterday on software version 173.44 these two programs were missing and today they still are, even though I upgraded to software version 173.45 and twice unplugged the TV for several minutes after that.

I remember that also one week ago the program titled "EZ" also was not listed.
And while I was writing this message, also "Twee voor Twaalf" disappeared from the EPG.

I use the 42PFL6008 TV in combination with DVB-T (Digitenne).

Update: it turned out that "EZ" was rescheduled to 19:55 according to the PDC data on teletext. That could be related to these programs disappearing from the EPG.
Last edited by AvdW; 02-01-2014 at 12:08 PM. Reason: Added that the program was rescheduled, according to PDC

These two problems from version 173.44 are still present after upgrading to software version 173.45:

    - When I used the EPG to schedule recordings, then after some random time the TV started blacking out the picture (as reported earlier in this thread in detail). But if I switch off the TV with the switch on the rear, after using the EPG, then it can avoid this symptom completely.

    - Sometimes the start and finish times of scheduled recordings are magically altered. The program title and channel remain as selected, but the date, start and finish time are changed into times that are related to completely different programs on the same channel. This happened more than once, for instance on channel "Canvas".

I use model 42PFL6008 in combination with DVB-T (Digitenne).
