    Miracast Samsung

    Hi.

I have a PHILIPS 42 PFL 5008H and a Samsung Galaxy S4 supporting Miracast too (just renamed Screen Mirroring by Samsung).

My phone detects and connect to the TV, the TV displays "1/2 connecting...", my phone says connected but my tv displays an error like "impossible to read the device".

My phone continues to display "connected".

No tv update available for the moment? Thanks and sorry for my bad english :s

    Hi Morgan,

Could you please confirm the current software installed on your TV?

    Best regards,

    Hi!

Thanks for your fast answer. 2 hours after my message, I tryed again to find new update and my tv founds one. Now it works!!!

Sometimes the display is very jerky, sometimes it's perfectly fluid but it's is shifted 2 seconds on average, impossible to play games for example.

    It's better! Continue! Thank you!!!

While trying to avoid sounding like a Philips fanboy, as far as I know, Samsung have completely butchered Miracast support on their devices, leading to only half compatibility with half the providers out there... might easily be a Samsung issue.

No. Not possible. The K firmware contains very different features from the H firmware, and they are not cross-compatible.

    Hi,

I have the same issue with the miracast function. The TV (40PFL4418) is available on my phone (LG Optimus G) but when I try to connect me to the TV, it's blocked to step 1/2 and then desappears.
    No mirror.

I checked and I have the last version of the firmware.

How can I resolve that ?
    Tks

    Technical Service FR

Today, I had some news from the technical service from France.

They answered me that the miracast function doesn't work with Philips TV !!!!!!
It works only with Nexus 4 (why Nexus 4 ??) and they don't know how to resolve this issue !! Unbelievable!!

So my advice is: don't buy a Philips TV for the miracast function!!

I'm very disappointed! I'm waiting for something more serious!!

Well i can assure you that miracast works on Philips TV's. Maybe your model havent got the latest firmware or something. Mine 5008T model didnt work with my SGS4 to start with, but after a new firmware it worked. (Not perfectly, but it worked )

I have 47PFL7008K/12 with the latest update for the firmware I get error message when I try to mirror from my Samsung S4 GT-I9500 with Android 4.3.
My TV software version is QF2EU-0.173.46.0
When I try to mirror I get an error that the connected device is not supporting HDCP.

    Anyone?

    Hi,

this is right, your TV does not support HDCP while using Miracast. Your Samsung need to establish an connection without HDCP (cause HDCP is an _optional_ feature in the Miracast standard).

    Hi ShayWC,

You would need to speak to Samsung regarding this, but as far as I am aware, if a manufacturer choses to impliment HDCP in their Miracast fucntion, then it is not possible for the end users to disable it themselves.

    Best regards,
