Angry Lack of support for HTS7500

Im gonna say that I'm really disapointed with the support provided by Philips on their products older than 2 years old.

I bought 4 years ago a very good HTS7500; saddly more and more bluray are not compatible with this bluray player (easy to check on internet how many people are complaining about "unknown disk" error); bluray pure audio are not even read by this 600€ system when a simple firmware update from Philips side will solved the problem immediately.

For me a 4-5 years old product should deserve some supports, specially from a company called "Philips".

The only thing you can do is to send a email to their so called "support" with information on the bluray unread but of course you never get at the end a solid answer from their hotline...

Really a shame! I'm thinking to go to some "consumer justice court" because clearly even if my product is not under warranty anymore the product should be able to read every bluray on the market, and now everytime I bought a bluray i have to pray for it to work at home. And netheirless to say that it has nothing to do with a technical problem with my HTS the lens is working perfectly.

    Dear martin.y,

Thank you for posting here on the Forum.
Unfortunately, the ‘unknown disc’ issue is not a firmware case. It is related to the hardware disc loader issue and for that reason I would recommend you to contact your local service centre to exchange the loader. Since your warranty expired, you may have to pay for the repair.

The forum helps to troubleshoot the general product queries, unfortunately, we are not able to help you with the 'service requests’ which involve visiting the local consumer care organization.

    We do apologize for that.

    Kind regards,
    Philips Moderation Team
