Red face Aw9000 audio delay fixed it!

OK, I know this problem has been bugging many of us for a while now. But I have a solution that works. Firstly I have stopped using the wireless connection and switched to the wired ethernet port on my AW9000s (make sure you can run an ethernet cable directly to your router). This requires a factory reset from the AirStudio+ app. I then connected my TV digital audio optical output to the AW9000 digital optical in. Now everything WORKS in time with no delay! The Airstudio+ app works almost instantly now when playing songs or changing volume. TV stays synced with audio when I switch back to it. Great! I have been testing it for an hour now. Hope this helps you all to enjoy amazing TV sound in time for Christmas.

Interesting soluition, I had tried it before but without the factory reset.

But sorry to say, it worked for me only the first minute !
Updated firmware to v.5.80. Connected my AW3000 wired. Did a factory reset. Connected wired to TV to operate as soundbar.
The first minute: only a very very small time delay, almost perfect in sync. (During that time the AirStudio app was apparently still fact.resetting completing, since all was greyed out). So I thought I am very happy.
However, after that first minute, it seemed after the full completion of the fact.reset, it went back to a significant delay (one word delay). Yes somewhat better than before (before the firmware upgrade + wireless) but still far too annoying to use.

It learns to me that apparently the systems (hardware + software + firmware + app) are capable of having almost no delay, at least for a minute. However, still some joint settings apparently do not really cooperating toegehter causing the time delay ?

    OK, you are indeed correct.

Had upgraded firmware to v.5.80. But app version was still on 1.1.4.
    Upgraded to version 18-December v.1.2.6.
Connected my AW5000 to internet wired, and to Philips TV 9000 series wired via mini-jack cable.
Indeed problem is now 'solved': only still a very small minimal audio delay (slight echo when both TV and AW5000 are on). But audio sound and video lips are now in sync, good enough to use as soundbar with the fantastic sound ! So thanks for finding this solution !

Wondering wheter this same performance is possible via wifi ??

One additional remark: an interesting phenomenon I would like to share.
Connected AW5000 wired to internet, and wired to TV. Control via AirStudio+, via the MP3 link. As indicated above, audio almost perfect in sync.
However, when closing (shutdown) the AirStudio+ app, the AW5000 continues to produce sound (as it still wired connected to the TV), and interesting enough, with a significantly increased audio delay (not so bad as previously, but significantly more delay than when 'managed' via the app).
Question 1: when shutting down the app, why does the speaker not shut down in this specific situation ?
Question 2: why is the audio delay increasing in that case ?

I saw quite some post here w.r.t. delay / lipsync.

As now Christmas holidays allow more time on your own stuff / fun activities, I went to my garage and checked the delay. Luckily the set I used was not yet upgraded (to 580S).

The set with the 563S had a delay on MP3-link of about 280 to 310ms or so. It's a bit tricky to measure, as the set has no flat mode (and my school book sawtooth signal gets a bit messed up).

I checked whether it changes if I connect it with LAN or WiFi-mode. Seems, there is no difference.

Also, whether the APP is opened or not, seems not to make a difference (but I admit, I only waited for about 15 or so minutes). Then I did the upgrade to the 580S. Wow, seems Philips starts to care about graphical user interface --- what a pleasant surprise with the new skin they've embedded. Anyhow, back to the delaytime ... --> it's now brought down to about 100 to 110msec. That level should be sufficient to be in sync with the TV (in my LG TV, I can offset about 150msec either way).

So, appears Philips did some improvements ...

Also here, nothing changes between LAN / WiFi.

Based on what I know about this set, a connected APP is just a slave, so won't do anything to the delay, unless I misunderstood the things I saw so far.

With 110msec, I would say the delay is good enough. Yes, it fluctuates a bit between 70msec and 110msec, but I only saw the 70msec twice (seems after heavy mode switching it changes a bit).
