    new surround sound question

    Hello everyone
just bought a PhillipsHTB3510 cine surround sound system to go with the new Sony tv I bought yesterday(old tv went pop)
not being a technophobe it has taken me most of the afternoon to set up.
Playback with dvd ok but only getting 2.1 sound when just listening to tv, is this correct or should i still get full 5.1?
    thanks

    Phil

    Dear philglos,

if the Sound settings are on Auto it is normal to have 5.1 audio only with DVD and 2.1 from the TV because this setting maintain the original sound format from the source.

    Kind regards,

There is still possibility to set the option for 5.1 audio when watching TV. But it depends on what you are watching because the surround quality can vary (i.e. TV shows or news will have very bad quality).

    Merry Christmas to you too.

    Kind regards,
    Sarka
