philips bdp5100/12 blu-ray player

Can anyone help me to understand why the hdmi signal doesn't work on my new blu-ray player through my lg 22ls4r hdtv.
currently i can only watch DVDs through the video & AV output on the red/yellow/white cables that came with my TV. Therefore the picture quality doesn't appear to be full HD.

Is this a problem with the player, cable or TV. When I turn the blu-ray player on the HDMI output shows the philips screen then when the player loads the picture goes black and get a no signal sign on my TV.

A solution to this would be extremely helpful, and if not a solution at least an understanding of why it keeps happening.

Hi,

how do you connect your BD player with your TV? It is not really clear...

If you use the red/white (for stereo audio) and yellow (for analog video) cinch connection you are only able to watch in anloge mode...

Do you also connected your BD player with a HDMI cable to your TV?

Did it not change to another extention when this happened. What happens when you connect a different HDMI device device to your TV?
What happens if you test this BDP on another TV? Did you test with a different cable.
