    Skype camera PTA317

    I am using a new Skype camera PTA317 with a new 42PFL6158K Smart TV. When I plug-in the camera, it is instantly recognised and I am able to log onto Skype. However, I can not get a picture nor does a picture show in the test camera option.

    What could be wrong?

    did you installed the latest firmware? Also try to pull power cord for 2-3 minutes.

    Hi - Latest update installed - connecting via Wireless (but connectivity not an issue - already surfing the internet and watching YouTube videos).

    That said, could there be a difference when using Skype via the LAN or Wi-Fi?

    Hi,

    no - question was, if you have installed firmware 173.44 and if you made a cold reboot afterwards (pulling power cord for 2-3 minutes). Sometimes there are some updates, which are only applied if you make a cold reboot.

    There is not difference for Skype regarding LAN or WLAN.

    I believe so - latest update is QF2EU-0.173.44.0 (173.44)

    Attached replacement camera – worked first time

    Big surprise that the first PTA317 camera was faulty
