HTS7140 is the RDS function not available????

Dear all,

I've noticed that the soundbar HTS7140 doesn't have the RDS feature.

Listening to the radio is not possible to display the radio issuer name/infos.

Is it a feature available or not?

Honestly I was expecting this simple feature by default in this expensive hilips soundbar.

Looking into leaflet and User manual it doesn´t mention anyhting about it, so mostlikely not avaialble

It's a pitty,

my previous Philips HTS 5120 soundbar (50% cheaper than the HTS7140) was equipped with the RDS feature.

Made the same observation a while ago and was surprisesed it was not included (2010). Discussed with the support and the first reply I got was how to find it, but later they changed and told it was not available. I guess they were also puzzled why it was not included since it is rather expensive.

even a 100€ iPod has RDS... this should be integrated via firmware update!

The RDS function is a hardware implementation, hence it is not possible to add this feature in.

Your suggestions and observations about this feature will be taken in consideration for next product releases.

this is nonsense : you know for sure that the Philips HTS5120 soundbar (it costs 50% less than the HTS7140) has got the RDS function standard.

The HTS7140 not. The reason of the missing RDS in the HTS7140 must be another one. And this is not upgradable.
It's a shame.
