Philips Fidelio HTL9100 - Topology Question

    Hi,
I Would like to purchase the Philips Fidelio HTL9100 and would like to verify my home topology will work.
The whole Arc technology confuses me...

I would like to connect a computer with hdmi 1.3 to the Fidelio and the Fidelio to my TV which also has only 1.3 hdmi (NO ARC).

So the 5.1 sound will play through the Fidelio and the picture will show on the tv, will the above configuration will work?

Also, do I need to the send the music stream uncompressed to the Fidelio in order to hear 5.1?

    Thank you very much.
    Nir.

    Dear Nhuri80,

Thank you for the post on the forum.

In case your TV does not have HDMI Arc, I would recommend you to connect your TV with the soundbar via HDMI and audio cable. For connection between the PC and the soundbar you can use HDMI as well.

The soundbar supports virtual surround sound, however, it also depends on audio formats.

    Kind regards,

    Sarka

    Hi Sarka,
Thank you very much for your reply.

My PC is connected with a Wireless HDMI to my TV, that is the only connection I have(and can make) from my PC to my TV.
Since my TV is old I do not have any HDMI 1.4 arc or optical output - the only thing I have is analog output from the TV.

So would I be able to connect the HDMI to the Fidelio and from it to the TV? even though it doesnt have an arc HDMI?

    Thanks!
    Nir.

    Dear Nhuri80,

yes, you can do it since the system has 2 HDMI input and 1 output to the TV.

    Kind regards,
    Sarka
