    Software for 9715

Is it possible that the new Firmware for 9715 (2011) comes for 9705 (2010), too? Both TV's are technicaly the same TVs - only the remote is different.

    Hi,

I don't think that they will provide this software for the 9705 series. But maybe Philips will surprise us :-)

    Hi,
I was checking the software version of both sets and they are the same, so I think that although 9715 is manufactured in 2011 it won't have the new features, such as usb recording.

But indeed it would be nice that Philips had could give 2010 TV owners this gift!

But the 9715 does not support or is advertised to have USB recording at all. Nevertheless: it would be a nice gesture from Philips to make this available. On the BDP3000 the USB was never advertised to be used for other things than firmware upgrade, but later firmware updates made it possible to use this USB for things like viewing photo's etc from USB memory sticks. So it is possible to bring "added" functionality to "old" models...

    Hi,

the software (Q5551) may be the same. But if the hardware chassis (9705: Q551.1E-LA) is the same... this is a different question
