HTS9221 + 46PFL6606k wrong aspect ratio for AVI

    Hello,

when I try to play an AVI file from USB or DLNA on my HTS9221 the picture is shown stretched (height) over the complete TV screen. This is wrong because it is a wide screen movie which has black stripes on top and bottom of the screen.
Problem exists for several AVI / MP4 files. If I convert this AVI to MPEG it is displayed correctly.

When I play these avi/mp4 files direktly on my TV (USB/DLNA) it is shown correctly!

HTS is connected via HDMI. I use the latest firmware for both devices. I already tried to reset the settings to factory settings and tried out several screen settings (zoom/16:9/fit...). Nothing helps.

Is this a bug? Any ideas?

    Thank you very much
    Andreas

    Dear aprev,

Thank you for the post. It can be caused by the difference between supported formats of your TV and HTS.
You can find information about the media files formats supported by your HTS on the page 40 in the User manual here: http://download.p4c.philips.com/file...12_dfu_aen.pdf

Can you playback different avi/mp4 file to see if it works?

    Kind regards,
    Philips Moderation Team

    Hello!

I've tried several video formats/files. Everytime the same problem.
Played with HTS -> wrong aspect ration on TV
Played directly with the TV -> everything correct.

    AVI: H.264 or XVID or MPEG4 - 720x576 or 720x404 or 1280x528
    WMV: WMV3 720x576
    MP4: H264 - 720x576 or 720x404 or 1280x528

    what worked: MPEG: MPEG2 - 720x576

    Best regards
    Andreas
