Question BDP7700 cannot read MKV files from DLNA server/ WD Live book

    Hi,

For some reason my BDP7700 doesnt see the MKV files on my WesternDigital Live Book (NAS)

I can browse to the NAS, i can select all my network computers and folders, but the BDP doesnt see the MKV files

It does see the .WMV files and .JPF files

    Help!

    Hello

    I have a similar problem.
I can view .mkv without any problems but .divx are only visible on my nas(synology 213j) not on my bdp 7700 (map/no content).

    Dear Sarka

When i play the divx on the nas there's no problem.
When i copy the divx onto a hdd or usb and play it on my bluray player ,no problem.
So in my opinion there's a problem with the DLNA on the player

    Dear bjeunink & jpdp,

Our team testing the streaming from PC with Twonky Media Server and no issue was found eirther with MKV and Divx.

The issue should be related to the media server sw installed on both NAS.

    Kind regards,
    Sarka

    Lightbulb

    Sarka,

You seem to be right about this, i copied a MKV file to another NAS and tried to stream from this NAS and it worked instand.
But I must notice, that this NAS is also working on Twonky!

Still, it might be a problem for the BDP to communicate with other NAS devices that are not running on Twonky. Can you say anything about this. Are you pleople able to test beside Twonky devices?

My 2 PC's have no trouble finding these same .mkv files on that WD NAS device. So the DLNA function is accualy working like it should.

    Dear bjeunink,

In general, NAS with Twonky SW can serve NAS, for example QNAP NAS. But we can't promise its compatability with all NAS. For that reason we can only suggest to try other file extension if there is a problem.

    Kind regards,
    Sarka
