    40pfl4308h/12 software upgrade

    Hi,

After upgrading my 4308 tv with new software 002.011.000.001, subtitles *.srt/*.sub are not recognized while playing from USB stick. The same titles was recognized before upgrade.
    Can you help me?

Please help! Problem after FW upgrade 40pfl4308h

    Hi,

I've already posted new topic on this but no answer, so I'm posting again under new title.
I've recently bought new 40pfl4308h/12 (in November) and made an software upgrade (to 002.014.000.001). After the upgrade tv doesn't recognize external subtitles (*.srt nor *.sub) while playing from USB stick. The very same subtitles were working before upgrade. I tried everything I could think of. Is there a solution to this problem? Please, help!

    Hi noirdy.

Just to be sure I understand you correctly:

The exact same subtitles that worked on previous software version, no longer work on software version 2.11?

What was the previous software version you had installed, do you know?

Are the video file and the subtitle files named the same? Example:

    video.avi
    video.srt

    Best regards,
    Ina

Thank you for answering. Yes, you understood correctly. No titles working, INCLUDING those "the exact same that worked on prev. soft". The video and the subtitle files are named the same. I use only mkw, and sometimes mp4.
This was the first FW upgrade I installed. But, even before the upgrade, no other than *.srt filetype worked, although as said in specifications, at least 5 or 6 types should work (sub, smi, txt among the others). Why is it so complicated? Is there a way it could work? Is there, perhaps, a mediabox that supports most of the formats and codecs, and 3d technology as well, that would work for sure with this TV? Although, I'd prefere if I could make it work without buying aditional devices. Please help! (sorry if my English is confusing)
    Thanks again and best regards,
    noirdy

    Hi noirdy.

    That's quite strange.

Could you please check that the charater encoding is supported?

    - Windows-1250 (CP-1250): Central Europe and Eastern Europe Latin (Czech, Hungarian, Polish, Slovak, Slovenian, Croatian, Romanian, Serbian)
    - Windows-1251 (CP-1251): Cyrillic
    - Windows-1252 (CP-1252): Western Europe Latin
    - Windows-1253 (CP-1253): Greek
    - Windows-1254 (CP-1254): Turkish
    - UTF-8: Multi-byte character encoding for Unicode

Do they work if they are embedded in the MKV container?

    Best regards,
    Ina
