usb HD 3 TB allways empty (NTFS formatted)

    hi,

I recently bought a Lacie USB drive with 3 TB (2.72 real) with a wallplug for electricity. When plugged into the usbconnector 2 on the side of my 32PFL4007H/12 the TV told me that the drive was empty but there where files on it. I reformatted the drive to NTFS with winxp pro, put 3 different files to it and switched the drive to on when plugged in. I've got the same effect: drive empty. I veryfied the file permissions and set them to all users all acces, but no matter: drive empty.

    what's happening?

    regards,

    Thibill

    Hi Thibill,

Please ensure the files are supported by your TV. You can find detailed info regarding this in the user manual on page 60 onwards:
    http://philips.to/1e2r6zF

Please also ensure you have up to date codecs on your PC. Please refer to Microsoft support for info on how to do this for your PC.

    Best regards,
    Ina

    Hi,

create 2 partitions (one at maximum 2 TB) - only use MFT (and not GPT) for partitioning (see wikipedia for explanations).

Or just use a USB 2.0 HDD which have at max. 2 TB.

    Hi Toengel,
    thanks for your reply.

I've done what you suggested: 2 partitions, the first one 1.8 Gb and formatted NTFS. The TV recognises the first partition, but doesn't show all of the files I've put on it. I've set all the files to all-users permission ( WinXP pro), but it won't change a thing.

    regards,

    Thibill
