    Black screen after startup. 32pfl6606h.

I've had this tv up for 2 years now. Always worked fine. This morning it started up, it was shorter than ever before, also the top half of the screen seemed darker than the bottom half. After that it did nothing!
I read al lot of posts. I also contacted philips. They advised a repair, of course. However my warranty is out with just a few months. She told me to go ahead anyway. I'm thinking it's gonna cost me...
First i want to try to fix it myself.
What i've read is that a lot of issues have to with the software. I want to try to update my software or to reset my tv.
How do i go about this?
My screen is pitch black. Can i ftp the latest software into the machine? Can i reset the bastard? Or is he passed already?

    Hi krs1,

If the TV screen is black, unfortunately there is no way to update the software or reinstall the TV.
The best thing to do would be to call your local authorised repair centre for advise. You can get this information from the customer service team.

    Best regards,
    Ina
