    BDP9700 Firmware upgrade -V4.19 for /12, /51; V4.21 for /93 and /98

    Dear All,

    V4.19 is released to BDP9700/12, /51, & V4.21 is released for /93 and /98.

    V4.21 & V4.19 includes the following changes:

    • Miracast feature has been enabled in this SW release. You can now use a Miracast certified mobile device to stream to the BDP. For more information about the Miracast feature, please refer to the BDP9700 FAQ from the product support page.
    • Fixes the following issues:
o No picture via HDMI when used with certain TV’s.
o Playback via HDMI sometimes loses sound after skipping chapters during BD/DVD playback.
o Video stuttering sometimes during BD playback.
      o YouTube playback sometimes freezes.
o Inconsistent sound output when used with Onkyo NR626 receiver.
    • Things to note in V4.21 & V4.19:
o In compliance with new AACS requirements, Blu-ray playback via CVBS output is now disabled. Please watch your Blu-ray movies via HDMI connection.
o As we are moving to a more efficient browser firmware, certain SmartTV applications and services may not be available.
o USB keyboard and mouse will not work when used inside SmartTV. This will be fixed in the next SW release.

    Kind regards,

It should be /98. The online function said there is no valid firmware for update.

    Hi,

often, the /98 will come a little bit later (at least it was with the previous versions).

Angry Firmware file is not updated

I had downloaded the latest firmware from Hong Kong website: http://www.philips.com.hk/c/fidelio/...drp1?t=support

Although the screen indicated it is version 4.19, but after I install the firmware it shown version 3.92.

And I had check the file size, it is old version 3.92 file size, that mean no change.

Also, the Release Notes did not change, the information shown in the "Release Notes" is upto version 3.92 only.

Last time, the web site maked the firmware version 3.97 but the actual version no. in the file is 3.92.

Please do more careful on firmware handling and management.

I have installed the new software now and done some testing.
The Philips is connected to a Yamaha RX-A3020A via the HDMI main and then on to a PanasonicTX-P65VT50. HDMI set to Bitstream.

The stuttering on 2D movies seems to be gone, but there is still some stuttering on 3D (about every 30 seconds). Also there is a new problem with the sound. On several movies like for instance the Pacific Rim there is no sound when the movie starts. The menus have sound. If you then turn off and on the Yamaha the sound normally returns, but not always.
You sometimes have to unplug the power cord on the Philips and hope for the best.
Changing the source back and forth on the Yamaha did help on older software but not now. Also if you try to change the sound track in movie the sound disappear. You then have to turn off the Philips, restart and then change the sound in the menu before you start the film.

This is much the same problems as I had with the older software, the V3.92 solved this problem for me. So it's back to basic again.

The settings on the Philips is exactly the same as with the 3.92V software. The Yamaha has the newest software installed.

I've installed the new firmware. The problem with losing the audio signal when I switch between chapters has been fixed, many thanks. But now I have an even bigger problem. I have no picture if the hdmi output is set to 1080/24hz. Before the update this worked fine. Please help.

Didn't before. Now i have but it doesn't change anything. Still no picture when 1080p/24Hz is chosen. Before the upgrade this worked fine.

I'm also expiriencing problems with my wifi.

Is there a way i can go back to the most stable firmware for me 3,52. The versions after this one introduced problem after problem for me.

    Many thanks.

There is another issue that was around for sometime. When playing those Blu Ray with the sound track of uncompressed 24/96, the optical output to my DAC display is only 24/48, but the DAC display 24/96 when playing 24/96 FLAC files. Wondering why the optical output is only 24/48 for those Blu ray with 24/96 audio track.
